Casa Secoya ruined my weekend getaway

I would review the rooms and location here...but I can't because I could not get in. Booked two nights at Casa Seyoca for this past weekend and, per their website, called ahead to set up a late check in (check in is from 4-7 and I thought we might be 7:30). I left my first voicemail at 2:15pm, which was never returned. I called multiple times before finally getting a hold of someone at 5:15 who said that the office was already closed (wow, check in is only one hour???) and that they would email me information about how to access a lockbox/get into our room within 15 minutes. That information never came. I called and called -- a total of 8 times throughout the day -- and left another voicemail with multiple phone numbers and email addresses. I never received information about how to get into this building. Because I live 90 minutes away, I was not willing to chance the drive (which is on rural roads) only to not be able to get into the hotel. And no one called us to ask why we hadn't ever checked in at all... I would not recommend staying here -- even if you want to, you might not be able to get in! What a waste of time, money and hundreds of dollars. STAFF YOUR OFFICE PROPERLY.

We love taking our kids out just going by ourselves for an overnight. Staying in one of the beautiful cabins, sitting by the fireplace is amazing.

Wonderful hotel and beautiful location. Room was not large but as I was solo it was perfect. Everything was clean and well appointed. Highly recommend this spot, just 30 mins from Bodega Bay.

Need some upgrades for comfort

Stayed in one of the cabins (#22]), which was great with a dog. Very quiet and away from the road with a fenced in common space. Kitchen was well stocked, towels were good, bed was OK. Our main complaint was with the furniture. The couch was horrible! We’d have been better off sitting on the floor. Also, the chairs at the dining room table were too tall to fit under the table, so you couldn’t sit in them comfortably to eat. Just felt like the hotel didn’t care if you were comfortable in the space. I would’ve given them more stars with just a few upgrades!

We checked in at 5:00 our room wasn't ready until 5:30 , we had to wait for the room to be done , one of the keys didn't work , we went to dinner came back at 9 pm and door wouldn't open , luckily I had second key . People in the room next to us were very loud at midnight and 6 am. Even after all this hiccups we would stay again for a night if the price was right

Very friendly staff, great place to eat close by. It's close to thw redwoods and about 30 minutes to rhe coast. Wonderful place to visit.

I paid for my room in advance. Luckily. I informed about a late check in & had no answer till right before 7pm. We had to call multiple times to get the email/information about late checkin for our keys and to pay the deposit. Room 11, the heater did not work so it was freezing inside the room all night. Thank god we brought a blanket/sleeping bag. The tv was broken, screen was pink and blue with 0 volume. Not used to a room with no coffee maker. And only had half a roll of toilet paper for 2 people. Unfortunately we have stayed at casa secoya before and didnt have this experience. I wouldnt recommend. I also heard from someone who works there that they arent paying him for his hours worked. His checks have been short. Thats super shady. I dont think we will ever stay there again.
