Absolutely loved the vision and design of the space. The concierge was kind enough to move us to a Capital view room that was beautiful. Housekeeping does an incredible job. Very clean and tidy.
I missed black out shades and the continental breakfast was a very basic breakfast. Most of the food was cold and a couple of the options were not refilled during service. Not a huge deal as it is continental but in the interest of an honest review, there is that. Would 100% stay there again, regardless. We’ll just grab breakfast at one of the dozens of fantastic spots not far from there. It’s a really great location!
If you love old architecture and buildings with history, this one is for you!! Our double king suite was awesome! The bed was as comfortable as our own at home. Best sleep I’ve ever had at a hotel, hands down. Staff were so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Loved the free continental breakfast as well which included scrambled eggs and sausage. This is a must stay when in St. Paul!!
The rooms were extraordinarily beautiful. The history was rich and they did a wonderful job keeping the history. We had an issue with our AC in our room but they took care of us without hesitation. The natural would work around the door frames in the windows. It's so beautiful. I absolutely loved all of the architecture. The stained glass windows we're so beautiful, the wooden floors, the doorknobs, the balconies, also, the staircase is are still in what I assume is original condition. They have lots of dips and indentations from where people have walked long ago. Overall I absolutely loved this hotel. We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and while we had a slight issue with the air conditioning, not working. It was resolved quickly, and we overall absolutely loved our stay. I have already recommended it to many friends and family. And would absolutely stay there again. The rooms were also very clean and well.Taken care of.

This is a delightful hotel with an historic past and fabulous staff. Includes breakfast in a converted chapel! This is our second stay here this year and I’m sure it won’t be our last!
This hotel is great! You take a leap back into the early days of a hotel. The property is very well taken care of. The rooms are done like a room 100 years old but with all of the modern touches. My wife and I will definitely stay here again!!
Such a unique place and very close to many venues and restaurants. Will definitely be back.

Disliked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Checking in to the hotel was a very slow process to start. Next, we get to our room and it was too warm for comfort so I turned the thermostat in the room to 68 degrees. We left our room for several hours to attend a show at the Fitzgerald, which is only a few feet away from the hotel which is why we stayed at Celeste. After the show we stopped for a nightcap at the Celeste's bar which turned out to be disappointing as well. My companion's whiskey sour was mostly ice and my Last flight from St Paul was skimpy and it tasted like NyQuil. We returned to our room only to find it scorching hot because the heater/AC unit was defective. No one around at check in so thankfully we were able to open the windows to get some relief from the heat. That only meant having to listen to the yelling and screaming in the street all night. Also, there must be little insulation in the building as you can hear your upstairs neighbors walking above you. As for romantic, seriously not! Photos of nuns everywhere didn't add to the ambiance. What we discovered next is that they don't clean well either. Breakfast was another disappointment. Unseasoned potato and eggs were the only hot offerings with other options of your standard cereal and yogurt choices. No, I wouldn't recommend staying here unless being next to the Fitzgerald is a necessity.
