Great hotel, very relaxing. I would definitely recommend. Also, I had never heard of Waitsfield before staying here and it was a very nice town. Some great views of fall foliage, great food and just a cool vibe all around.

Fall Foliage Must Stay
The place was right by a scenic spot looking towards a mountain view. The room was spacious, comfortable, and the owner, John, very welcoming, friendly, and personable. This place is a "definitely coming back" "must stay" spot if you want to be close to everything.

Overall good stay. If you’re looking for a place to get clean and sleep this was a good option. Everything was very smooth and the room was very clean. Beds were comfortable and firm. Unfortunately they only have one washer dryer set and the hours of operation were 9am to 9pm. So we weren’t able to use them in time.

A Gem on the Mountain
It was a weary day driving. I found The Mad River Inn on line. Surprising nice mountain drive. An Adventure. The room was efficient and cozy. Super clean. All the amenities you need. Great coffee in the morning. And breakfast snacks for a buck. Apparently skiing as well. Should be on my list for winter. Very low key check in and out. The Innkeepers are friendly and acconmodatig. Well worth the visit . Best regards. M. Burns.

We only stayed for a night but would definitely stay at Mad River Lodge again! It’s an easy drive from Montpelier and other attractions. The property was well-kept and parking was very convenient (right outside the door to our room). The innkeeper, John, was communicative and easy to reach. Check-in/out was seamless and hassle-free as well. Our room was nice and comfortable and had the usual amenities— AC, mini fridge, etc.

We had 2 rooms and loved that they shared a common hallway so we could easily go between rooms. Lodge and rooms were immaculately clean. Only complaint was we had 1st floor rooms and windows werent able to be locked due to air conditioner venting system. Would definitely go back and pick an upper level room. Innkeeper was available and responded promptly to any text messages.
