Stayed for only one night prior to an early meeting. Check in was easy and attendant was courteous and helpful. Location was great, but an old building with poor soundproofing and noise from hall interrupted my sleep (I'm a light sleeper). It was a rare cold night in Miami and there was no heating (only a window air-conditioner with no heat option). Room had very basic, but functional amenities. Very clean. Pay-for-Park on street in front of hotel, but there was free street parking close by.

We only stayed for one night and didn't really explore the area, but the neighbourhood is quite sparse, had a very industrial feel and I didn't notice many shops or restaurants within walking distance. The property itself is charming, clean, but it's definitely showing its age and lacks an elevator. The staff was fine, not overly friendly, nor rude and the room was sufficient and clean.

Pleasant stay in a great area. Room was a good size and clean. Remember that you are staying in a 1920’s hotel and enjoy the charm. Enjoyed a nice walk after dinner and very close for our needs.

Horrible experience - urine-smelling carpet
We booked this hotel for our family trip to Miami because of its average 9-star "Excellent" rating. However, it turned out to be a horrible experience. First, this hotel has no elevator, so we had to carry all our large luggage up to the third floor without any assistance. Second, the front desk assigned us to Room 221, which had a constant pungent urine smell coming from the carpet throughout our entire three-night stay. We requested a room change immediately after stepping in, but they insisted the entire hotel was fully booked and no other rooms were available. They assured us that after room service the next day, the issue would be resolved. However, there was no improvement at all. In fact, we found the restroom in the room to be much more bearable than the room itself. Third, the room is small, and windows cannot open. We will never come back again—huge regret in making this reservation.
