Comfortable & Quaint

Replace the ac unit. Sometimes it sounded like a lawn mower with bad gas and a defective carburetor. Otherwise the room and hotel was quaint. Well located for our needs. Glad we got the kitchette.

surprisingly good!

the building is old but i was surprised by how clean and new everything felt. great service too, really good human beings at the front. the only comment is about the beds - too soft, cheap mattresses.

Loved the place and the neighborhood! It was clean and quiet. Parking was street parking on Zamora which was easy to get at night but probably a challenge during the day. They were very accommodating in our late entry and checkout. Much appreciated!

Not your typical hotel

There are a lot of endearing qualities to this hotel. We just stayed one night and didn't have time to delve into it's history, but it obviously has a lot of history, or else it would not have been able to be exempt from modern ADA requirements. There are no elevators, so if your room is on the 3rd floor as ours was, you walk two flights of stairs with your luggage. My wife and I are able-bodied, but any physical disabilities would render most of the rooms in this hotel inaccessible. Our walk-in shower was smaller than one might expect, and the shower head was plumbed in such a way that the spray mostly hit the shower curtain covering its narrow entrance. I was happy with what we got; the inconveniences were overcome by the nostalgic aura that pervaded the place and the comforting setting in the midst of a neighborhood bustling with dog walkers, baby strollers, and joggers.
