Homewood Happy

The frig was not cool enough but the freezer compartment worked well. Breakfast was (powdered) scrambled eggs two days in a row. Coffee was ssuperb.

Kind of surprised at location and external presentation of building exterior. Seemed strange to have to go through the parking garage entry to enter the hotel, even then having to take the elevator up to the front desk. Room nothing special for the price paid. Had to ask the manager for forks and spoons since none in room. Hate wall HVAC units that blow on you while seated and can't be redirected. Used a makeshift method to keep it from blowing on us. Don't know if any staff ever came into the room for cleaning, etc.

Not well maintained

Our room was very basic. Some fundamental issues - door was broken; I had to body check it to open and to close it. - bottom drawer of dresser was broken and stuck half way open - they sold wine in the lobby but no wine glasses in room - light switches didn’t work

Check in clerk was very helpful, polite and patient. He provided information about surrounding areas and restaurant options and informed us about the free metro ride to other parts of downtown Miami (the city center mall) etc. I didn’t catch the clerk’s name (which is a shame because he was so helpful) but I’m grateful for his input and guidance. Thank you.

I had several issues with this stay. The couch cushions had huge stains on them. There was also a sizable hole in the hide-a-bed mattress. The tv did not work correctly, had to ask numerous times for extra towels , as there were not enough for each person to have one. We ran out of tissues and toilet paper and housekeeping showed up once to do the routine bed making and tidying up after 5:00 in the evening. Receipts were not ready when we checked out so I was assured it would be emailed, which never happened. The only positive was. the valets were extremely kind and accommodating.
