Beautiful hotel right in the zolcalo area. It was under renovations but did not bother us at all. We stayed in the piramid building which is the newer area and was phenomenal. Everyone was super nice.

The hotel is in an excellent location and is very quiet. The staff were helpful. I did have several emails while staying at the hotel saying they were going to cancel my booking as they had not heard from me and as it was all in Spanish I had no idea what the emails contained. I was actually at the hotel and showed the receptionist and she had no idea why i had been sent the emails. I enjoyed my stay there

Whoever said coming to Mexico is dangerous needs to come to Mexico city. Every corner has 4 or more police officers. The hotel was clean, modern and close to the center of town. The only reason you will need a car is to get to the hotel or want to take a day trip to Puebla or another small town. There is so many stores around for anything you might need. Food is on every corner and delicious. The biggest sweet bread bakery is on the corner. Historical areas in view of our rooms balcony.

Have stayed here several times already. This hotel is in the perfect location you can walk to all the cool places in historic center. The fact that they offer free bottled water and cookies and fresh fruit also fresh coffee in the looby is a very nice touch! Front desk was professional and very welcoming. Hotel was super clean and the rooms are great size. I traveled with my elderly mother and she kept saying how she loved the hotel. We will be back again and again and again.

The Hotel initially put us on the floor where they are painting rooms and even inside our room I can still smell the paint plus I am asthmatic; I ask to change floor and put us in a room that the sink is clogged, staff came with a plunger but did not work

Hotel Catedral

Shortly after we arrived, my daughter became quite ill and had a very restless first night. In the morning, jackhammers and other construction tools were working first thing. I went down to the front desk and sled if it was possible to move to a quieter room. Without hesitation we were moved from a basic, but clean, room in the original wing of the hotel to the new tower with newer, fresher rooms. We were VERY impressed with both the upgraded room and the ease with which the hotel staff made this happen. Each bed has a selection of pillows for comfort and bottled drinking water is always available. There are two restaurants which offer a buffet breakfast, or simple ala carte items. As well, the restaurant provided a full dinner menu.

Potable water that isn't.

I love this hotel, but encountered a strange, and hazardous situation on this stay. This time, unlike on previous stays, there was a wall mounted faucet labeled "Potable Water above the bathroom vanity (but not over the sink). I tried it, and when I pushed the button, water under very high pressure, discharged explosively, causing quite a mess — but this was not the problem! When I mentioned a maintenance person, what happened, she replied "Oh, you shouldn't use that, it is out of order — that water is not potable." When I said that in that case, the non-potable water should be shut so people don't drink it (as I did!). She seemed not to take my concern seriously, stating that "bottled water was on the desk" and guests "should use that", even when I said that people could become ill from drinking it. This is a potentially serious public health issue, and must be dealt with, urgently.

An excellent hotel at a great price and location!

Hotel Catedral is an excellent hotel at a great price! It's just a block from the Zocalo and a short walk to the Zocalo Metro station. The staff were friendly and helpful. They even had cookies and chips for arrivals and gave us each a bottle of water. There were also 2 bottles of water in the room, as well as coffee and a couple of chocolates. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. It had a balcony with a great view of the city. I have no complaints. This hotel can't be beat in Mexico City!
