I booked my room, drove to the property, and the office was locked and the lights were all off. Had to book another hotel and was lucky to get one late on a Saturday night.
We moved in and out in one hour because the wall plugs didnt have any electricity. Thus, no way to use the fridge or recharge our cell phones. The staff was exceptionally good, and did understand why we couldnt stay in that room. They didnt offer us an alternative. Great people at the front desk.

Reasonable pricing, but be ready for loud noises
Overall it was okeyish for this type of stay, with the only main negative side of terrible noise coming from the street, as there are many moto vehicles going back and forth by the main street. If you close the windows, there is no air to breath, if you open a window, then you basically sleep on a sidewalk.
Charming little posada! Very clean and comfortable.

A place you want to keep coming back to
Posada Lilia is not the Hotel Grand FiFi. It is a charming posada with clean rooms with basic needs satisfied with water, hot and cold; A/C. Sat TV and a locking door. The property is clean and the staff and owner are very friendly and helpful, We stayed here on our way from the US to Playa del Carmen and we came back with friends for a weekend side trip. The fact that we returned to Lilia says it all.
Our original hotel cancelled our reservations a week before we were to arrive. We took our chances and went with Posada Lilia and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel has about 14 rooms on two levels. It’s not fancy but we found it to be very clean. No one spoke very much English but we were able to check in and get around.
The beach was about a block away and the location was very convenient. We left our car parked during the whole time we were there which a day and a half. The town is very compact so driving and parking is not worth it.
The AC was very cold. The ceiling fan was quiet. The bathroom looked remolded as everything was in clean tile. I wished they had a thin blanket on the beds. The only covering we had was the sheets on the beds. The small refrigerator was a nice added amenity. In back of the hotel is wash rack and cold water shower to rinse off sand and the salt from after your swim in the ocean.
There is a small walk up counter type store next door and on the other side is the building where you would check in.
The reasons why I enjoyed the hotel were the price, location, cleanliness and the people. Once again, no one there spoke English and we didn’t expect them to, after all we’re visitors in their country, but we managed to have a very peaceful and relaxing visit to Celestun.
Price is inexpensive. Place is simple, clean and conveniently located very close to the beautiful beach. Refridgerator and wifi. Staff helped us find a guide to take a boat to see the flamingos. Enjoyed our stay.
Well it was low season and this place feels like the end of nowhere, but this place is below my limit. The room looks terrible two double beds in a dim room. Nylon sheets on the beds ! wires hanging to a rusty fridge and an aircon that sounds like a plane taking off. A real backpacker survival place but at excessive rates for the quality. We paid 46 USD and I'd say it was worth maximum 25$. The only reason I didn't turn away was because we weren't sure we could find another place open and the guy who runs the place seemed like a nice guy (not a word of English though - but I guess I should speak spanish). Only redeeming factor was a good internet access !
The hotel is very basic, the beds are uncomfortable, with springs poking through the mattresses, most of the rooms have no view, there are a lot of other hotels in Celestun, unfortunately they are not on hotels.com or other major web sites. I would recommend to arrive in Celestun without a reservation, as most of the tourists take a day trip from Merida to see the flamingos, i would imagine there are always rooms available. We were there in Easter Week & there was.
The mattresses were worn. You could feel the metal springs. The room itself was bare and not welcoming. The view from the 2nd floor was to the owners lot with empty bottles and garbage lying around. The location would be not bad but maintenance and upgrading is needed. We moved out after 1 night.

Los dueños muy lindos, hacen lo que pueden pra hacerte sentir bien. La dueña se espera en la limpieza. No es un hotel 5 ⭐️, pero para dormir y seguridad cumple bien
