Very old dated hotel. Broken old furniture, super tight rooms. Small windows. Shower didnt have curtain or door making bathroom wet every shower. It feels like a 1 star hotel. Only good thing was the location and distance to Rawda

Amazing location
We arrived 4 hours before check in and we were given a room within a few mins with no fuss. Room was a suite - perfect for our family of 4. Room had everything we needed, free complimentary minibar which was refuelled daily. Room service and cleaning was on point and the reception staff whenever required fulfilled all requests. Breakfast was brilliant with plenty of selection and amazing views of the mosque of the prophet from one side. Location is the best thing - literally on the courtyard of the mosque with amenities and shops available in all directions. Would I reccomend? 1000% would i stay again? 1000000% !!!

The Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah offers a fantastic stay in the heart of Madinah. Its location is ideal—just steps from the Prophet's Mosque and close to Taiba Shopping Centre. The hotel has spacious, comfortable rooms, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The international breakfast buffet is excellent, with a wide selection that caters to all tastes. For added convenience, there are several food outlets nearby, including Hardee’s, McDonald’s, KFC, Karak Express, and Zaitoon, making it easy to find a meal anytime. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, convenience, and quality service in Madinah.

Good hotel big rooms and very close to haram. Just behind Dar al Taqwa. Renovation going on at the moment but still one of the best hotels I've stayed in medina.

Food was excellent as was location. Waiters were mixed some good some not so good. Often long wait for cutlery or drinks. The rooms were not as clean as they could be and we had cooking smells in our suite from the restaurant. No plugs by bed for my medical equipment. The rooms are look a bit old and worn.
