Decent location but very bad room

Unfortunately I was given by far the worst room in the hotel #106, behind the front desk, with a window over the parking entrance and the street, and a few steps from teh breakfast area. They claimed hotel was full, which eventually was correct as starting at 6am the bfast area was packed with people extremely load. Doors are also super heaving and noisy, making room #105 next to me extremely loud. I can suggest this hotel for a quick stop as a cheap tourist, not for a 3-4 day stay.

Though billed as a VIP Access property, Blues didn't acknowledge it, didn't offer an amenity and didn't upgrade the stay. Instead they provided me a street-facing ground floor room (not the room I booked) next to the lobby with an adjoining room separated by only a door. There was noise from the lobby, cafe, next door neighbours and the street. I slept very little the two nights I spent there. After several cheeky, cutsey text messages from the hotel before my arrival about how "cool" they were and how thrilled they were to welcome me, I expected front desk staff to be welcoming and accommodating. They were not. All the style and coolness in the world doesn't matter if a hotel can't fulfill basic things like a friendly welcome, providing an environment for restful sleep and a hot shower (the water was never hot, just warm). There were other issues like the worst complimentary breakfast I've ever had, but since the hotel didn't offer the basics, what's the point.

I did not like my check-in process. I felt uncomfortable and i was charged some fee that i had to payat check-in. They had me wait till after 3:00 pm to get my room. I know that the check-in is at 3:00 pm, bjt it was a Thursday and more than likely they had a room available to give me. Also the gentleman and the girl, whose names I don't remember, were not friendly and seemed as if they did not want to be there or had a bad morning. The only thing i liked about the hotel was the room and the cleaning crew. Thise two things were the only things i liked about this place.

Hotel was decorated cute and modern, but once staying there I was very disappointed with amenities that were either broken or unavailable.our bathroom shower leaked out to the hall so we were switched rooms. The new room was worse. The shower door didn’t close and the whole bathroom would overflow with the water. The WiFi was also very spotty and hardly available. The TV didn’t work for us possibly because the WiFi was so terrible. It was our honeymoon and could’ve been disappointing but we decided to focus on doing activities while out and just focusing on talking and communicating while we had to be in the room. It wasn’t horrible but not up to our standard.
