The Lafayette is always a great place to stay when we visit Marietta. We love the area and the fact the shops and restaurants are all within walking area.

Hotel was nice and old, not honeymoon, but great historic overnight. Great service, stingy on towels though. Town is a clean college town, with nice trails along the Ohio. Weird thing though, they let a half naked guy dance at the end of the street by hotel downtown from 8pm to around 11pm blaring music. Seems harmless, but weird if you want to throw a penny in fountain at that time period. There are random homeless people along trail, but they don't beg, this is oddly standard around college towns. No ghosts in hotel, even went in basement with all the nerd stuff, nothing. Very nice historic hotel, so don't get me wrong. A must visit!

Classic Hotel
Very nice getaway stay in Marietta, Ohio. This classic hotel was wonderful with bar and restaurant service. Great location on the Ohio River in downtown historic River City. Highly recommend the experience. Thanks

This historical building is lovely. Our room was spacious w a sitting area and 2 bathrooms. Very very cool. Overall cleaniness was good. Wallpaper was pealing off the walls. There were stains on the chairs, but linens were crisp and clean. Window AC units and ceiling fans. This was fine for our Oct stay, not sure how it would be in July or August. Lobby was pretty, but there was an odd odor and carpet could use a good cleaning. All in all a good place to stay. Close to everything. Wlka le to bars and restaurants and quaint downtown shops.

We were given coupons for free breakfast on Saturday but were told at breakfast that day that the coupons were mistakenly given to us by a desk clerk who'd made a mistake so they were not valid. Breakfast prices are VERY VERY reasonable at the hotel but i feel like the coupons should have still been honored since it was the hotel's mistake. We ended up paying full price for breakfast. We plan to visit again in the future because we did love the hotel and its great location. We'll just check the coupons before we head down to breakfast.

What a wonderful stay
Cool beautiful vintage hotel with beautiful views of the Ohio River. Spent some time sitting in the lobby listening to check-in.The staff is so friendly and eager to accommodate the guests. The town had lots of historical, natural and commercial attractions. Strongly recommend.

The room was VERY SMALL and the bathroom was incredibly small. The small basin was right in the way of the toilet. You had to shift your body past the sink to get to the seat! They had too much big furniture in the room and we could barely turn around. The AC was in the window - not in the wall as depicted here. The hotel itself was lovely - but our room was just too small. The bed mattress was lumpy and very uncomfortable.

Our room could use some updating. Carpet had rolls in it and needs to be stretched. Coffee Pot water well was dirty. Fan did not work. The rooms are overrated and expensive. The bed was comfortable. The view was nice from our room (river view). There is only one elevator in the whole hotel and it is very small. The location was excellent and parking was easily accessible.
