I received a confirmation call on Monday confirming my reservation which I DID confirm.. on Friday my group of ladies traveled 3 hrs only to have our room reservation CANCELLED.. WHAT?? Thank goodness I saved all emails and call history .. there was wedding parties there which the hotel was full but she was able to get us room which wasn't what I reserved but I had no choice .. I was charged for a regular room but originally reserved a suite ... Super disappointed with Expedia for cancelling my room instead of confirming it.. it worked out but that's not the point.. it could have turned out worse with no other options but to drive back home

Carpet was soaking in the first room we reserved. Given two smaller rooms as compensation for the unusable suite with the carpet still damp (but not soaking) with a damp smell in both rooms.
Lovely spot in a nice walkable area - Hy-Vee is just a couple blocks away for groceries if you're planning on staying a while, and the downtown area is worth exploring as well. I just wish I could have stayed longer to see more of the town
Overall a great stay. On the plus side, it was great to see the breakfast area being restocked up to the scheduled end time for breakfast. Many hotels stop replenishing and the stragglers who come at the last minute don't have much to choose from. On the minus side, the exterior trash can near the door closest to our room didn't get emptied once during our two night stay. It was full when we arrived and was overflowing with extra trash set alonside it (in fast food bags or shopping bags) by the time we left. Another minus is that the room's thermostat wouldn't go below 67° and I like to sleep a little cooler than that.
