Return visit as in offer and thought I would give the hotel another go. Check in / out all good Bedroom was fine and facilities were good. Gym and pool a bounus if you get time to use them. Staff were all very polite and acknowledged you. Always appears busy in the car park, very tight bays and cars double parked I had to park at the rear car park which a walk to reception. Food and portions not great if you are hungry, I felt over priced but typical for a captured audience. I have dislike where any establishment puts on a a service charge, although “discretionary” it’s forced as compulsory unless you challenge the unauthorised charge. Over all would try again but eat off site.

The Room was excellent - clean, quiet and comfortable. The Receptionist was inexperienced and couldn't answer questions without deferring to someone else. The evening meal was very poor - the ham hock starter was tasteless and lacklustre, the main chicken course was tiny and quite bland - who likes charred cabbage? - and the creme brulee was only average.

Our stay was amazing, the room was spacious and comfy beds. Room facilities were great. We used the swimming pool and sauna, excellent service. All staff were polite. We got really good value for money, swimming pool and gym use inclusive. We had the breakfast buffet.. loved it !! This hotel has everything covered to the details. Very happy stay.

I was particularly struck by the fact that all the hotel staff I met in corridors etc acknowledged my presence, met my eyes and greeted me with a simple 'Good morning'.

Ok - avoid the restaurant
Hotel is in a nice location and generally it’s ok - however, food prices are ridiculous. Massively overpriced and moderate quality. Spent £90 on a bar meal for two which probably cost considerably around £6/ £7 max to put together in terms of ingredients cost. The place was empty and with good reason.
