Sadly disappointed 😞

Twin room was adequate size, clean beds, tea and coffee facilities but that is where the good comments end. Room required repairs and redecorating. Sky light in room had shutter but did not shut. There was no main light and although it was mentioned to staff only one of the 3 lamps in the room worked. The shower worked, however leaked down the wall onto the floor.

Comfortable

A comfortable bed and decent shower, sadly the hotel is very dated and needs a good refurbishment!

Not a great experience at all.

Checking in at reception was not a friendly welcome. Not made to feel welcome at all. Returning to the hotel later that evening and the security guards didn’t believe I was staying at the hotel and asked for several bits of info before they’d let us up to our room. On initial check in we found multiple hairs in the bath.

Yes it’s basic, I wouldn’t pay more than £40/50 for a room. It’s central therefore convenient. Staff are fairly rude. Lots of nose coming from other rooms.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. I arrived with my husband and 11 year old son to find a very run-down building (both outside and inside). The reception staff were all standing behind perspex screens with a tiny hole to talk through. Within a few seconds I was told that we all needed photo ID to check-in. Basically, no ID no room. This was not mentioned ANYWHERE on the booking confirmation email from Expedia. We have checked-in to hundreds of hotels in the past, and have never been asked for photo ID (abroad, yes, but not in the UK). The person "assisting" us was the Duty Manager Kumar. I showed him my booking confirmation email and asked him to point out where it mentions the requirement for photo ID, which of course he couldn't do because it wasn't there. I imagine a well-trained member of the hospitality industry would have said that he or she is so sorry that we weren't informed about the need for photo ID and that he or she will look into it immediately. I imagine they would have apologised profusely but told us that unfortunately they had to stick to their policy. Instead, Kumar was unapologetic, unhelpful, rude and blunt. After realising he was never going to work with us to try and resolve the problem, we walked away. It made me wonder what kind of guests they must have to feel the need to stand behind huge sheets of perspex and ask an eleven year old for photo ID. Maybe it was a lucky escape.

Not the best experience

Good location for central Manchester. Impressive lobby. The check-in was quite straightforward. I had booked an executive twin room with my daughter for one night thinking we would have a window as there was a cheaper option of a room without a window. We had a tiny half-moon window with limited daylight. The bathroom door did not close because it was ill-fitting in the door frame. The heating was on full with no available adjustment on the thermostat which meant we had to open the window and put up with the outside Saturday night noise. There was only one bath towel provided. Not a very pleasurable experience for an « executive «  room!
