Paying money for a hotel that is bare minimum of high quality but not being able to stay in your room for 2 people cause 1 was not at check-in so they didn’t have her id so had to get another hotel for the night

We went to Manchester for a show and stayed over here from check in the service was brilliant and staff where very friendly nothing was to much trouble I would highly recommend this hotel , rooms where spacious clean and comfy

This is the first time that I have stayed at this hotel. Check in was swift and I was in a room on the second floor. I was in a single room which had everything that I needed. So easy to get to the city centre and the metro which is just across the road from the hotel. I would stay here again.

Appearances can be deceptive.
Apart from the grand entrance of the hotel, with its sweeping staircase and wonderful spacious communal areas, everything else seemed quite basic. Breakfast which I paid for separately was quite disappointing, with few choices for vegetarians. Out of all of the hotels I have stayed at, the breakfast at the Britannia Hotel was the most basic I have experienced. The gentleman guarding the hotel entrance was very friendly and helpful, which made my stay there better.

Impressed with a budget choice hotel that exceeded expectations for the price. Our room was basic but clean and comfortable, no issues getting to sleep with the bed, duvet, pillow. We overlooked the main Piccadilly area but the extra internal glazing was very effective at sound proofing. Bathroom was clean and functional, with good sized bath and shower. Tea/coffee making with kettle provided, plus chairs and table.. TV provided Freeview channels. We arrived too early for check-in but they had a left-luggage facility. The staff were friendly and helpful. A negative would be that wifi in the rooms needed an extra voucher that had a charge, but we could reach the BT Wifi hotspot outside. Also that check-in required an id-check for my son as well as myself, so if you have children make sure you carry an official document with their names on as well. Overall a good choice for a budget central Manchester stay, close to Piccadilly station.

I had to swap rooms twice due to air con which was so loud and was told they didnt have aircon so took a video, I told them i was extending and needed to go the bank was told 1 price for 2 nights and deposited and within 15 mins the cost had changed by 32 pounds and i was annoyed but paid it and was told that included city tax then was told i had to pay it which i only had cash and asked if i could pay it when back as was meeting family and they threatened to call the police on me as i was being obstructive and refusing to pay the required fees which was untrue and the security came across with his aggressive approach and attitude and started recording with the body cam to which i showed i do security close protection and work the doors and showed him my badges as was working in Manchester to which his whole attitude changed, i asked for a refund and was told it was non refundable and told the security go gather my belongings and bring them me i wouldn't stay here again and was highly disappointed with the whole services provided

Struggled with the intercom, paid for internet and could not use it despite several complaints, there was no resolution. No free wifi in the rooms. The toilet had overflow of water. Was my worst travel experience.
