We had a fantastic time in Ollantaytambo. The hotel is in a beautiful location, and it’s tucked away from the bustle of the main square while still very easily walkable to the town center.
It was also an absolute pleasure to meet Rene and spend a day with him. He picked us up from the Cusco airport and was also our tour guide the next day in the Sacred Valley. We had a great time, and Rene was very knowledgeable, funny, and incredibly friendly. Also, he speaks good English and is a very safe driver. In addition, we arrived late in Ollantaytambo after our flight and he arranged for a friend to deliver us food at the hotel right when we arrived.
We can’t however give five stars, unfortunately. The bed was very uncomfortable and the mattress seemed old. We also found long black hairs on the bathroom floor, on our towels and even in the bed. So the bed and the cleanliness could use some improvement. We did have a very spacious and light room! Breakfast was basic but nice, with made-to-order eggs and fresh bread.
