A real gem. Give it a try.
Enjoyed the Feathers hotel very much. So much more there than we used though as it was a catch-up with friends and we ate and drank elsewhere. There’s an onsite Starbucks (a Costa in Tesco’s just down the road) 😉. Lots of people in the Hotel during the day and food busy in the evening. Really quirky layout, onsite parking through the archway into 25 or so spaces for £7.50 a night. Room was huge, en-suite was great size too. Don’t expect a quiet hotel as it’s an old building with various floors/doors and a very unique layout. A really nice place ti enjoy Ludlow (somewhere else that I wasn’t expecting to be as nice as it is). Wished we’d done our homework on what’s available in the area as loads to do. Some awesome scenery, great pubs & Michelin star eateries!
Great waterside walks

For a building from the 16th century it’s great, unique and interesting. Just feels good.

Lovely hotel
A beautiful hotel, decorated to an excellent standard. The bar and restaurant were lovely, the staff very friendly. The rooms were really comfortable but unfortunately the heating in the rooms was switched off around 9am, meaning that they were very cold if you wanted to spend any time in them during the day or early evening (especially as it is a very old property).

QUITE A SPECIAL HOTEL
The Feathers Hotel is a very beautiful building and is conveniently situated in the heart of Ludlow. Our room was basic but warm and clean with an extremely comfortable bed and lovely shower. The view was dismal but that couldn't be helped! The car park is quite small and it seems unfair that customers have to pay to park there (£7.50 per night) but at least there were a number of parking spaces available when we arrived and it is possible to leave your car there until about 3pm on your day of departure. There were one or two slip ups with the service at meal times - e.g. we were left waiting a very long time for the first course of our evening meal and for breakfast the following morning - but the price of one starter and one breakfast were deducted from our bill to make amends, and the food was very good. All in all a very positive experience at quite a special hotel.

Unfortunately for the hotel and me I arrived as the heavens opened. This was compounded by there being no available hotel parking. On returning from public car park soaking wet I was told the dining room would not be opening. I had invited two guests and pre booked a table for three. No compensation was offered. The helpful receptionist got us into a nearby (excellent) Thai restaurant. The room was excellent.

Beautiful hotel full of character
Beautiful historic hotel in central but quiet location. We had 2 days in Ludlow, a charming town to explore with many quirky buildings, pubs and eateries all in easy walking distance from the Feathers. Very comfortable room and bed and generally excellent service. Only a few niggles such as no water glasses, no bottled water, one basic pack of biscuits and we had to go out to buy shampoo and conditioner (there was bodywash), things you would expect from a quality (expensive) hotel. Also parking steep at £7.50 in restricted car park (no room on first night) and breakfast a whopping £16 (reduced price!), very nice but should have been included. Lovely meal on Sunday night

Ludlow offers a great selection of artisanal shops unique to the town as well as Joules White stuff and Fatface so shopping was a cert. Castle closed for food festival starting day we left Hotel food was as expected the £33 steak being tougher than it had any right to be but starters great and shared cheese board excellent. Breakfast fare was usual hotel stamp - bland hash brown big flabby soggy mushroom and uninspiring sausage Service in restaurant excellent but otherwise there was a lot of waiting around -? more staff needed

Our room was absolutely gorgeous. It was extremely roomy overlooking the high street. The bathroom was also spacious and had a lovely shower. We came back late on the Saturday night and the staff helped us find somewhere to get food. They were so helpful. And breakfast....the food was delicious. We will 100% be back Location is right in the middle of Ludlow and everything was walkable

Great location and lovely hotel. The service was slow but the chef was ill so they had a stand in. Breakfast was okay but expensive at £15.85.

Loved the history of the property and quirky features.. excellent location parking could be difficult at times as the hotel was very busy. We had a room at the front of the hotel so we did get some street noise during the night, but it was the weekend with people being out and about enjoying themselves. If we’d realised we would have requested a room at the back of the hotel. So something to note.
