I appreciate it is a 1 star budget hotel but the air con suggested it could reach down to 15 degrees but at best it was low twenties. The room was much too hot to be comforable

The location of tbe hotel is not bad. It is pretty close to the Old Town, and they provide as a courtesy a free public transportation pass for your entire stay. Just across the street you can take bus # 4 to the train station (only 3 stops), and from the station you can walk the whole Old Town. The service was good, but they charge you to get to the room if you arrive an hour or hour and few minutes before the check in time as we did. I have never experienced such a ridiculous rule because the room was ready when we arrived as long as you pay for to check in. However, we left 4 hours before the check out time the day we left, and they did not even mention to give us a discount. The house keeping ladies are great, but we had to ask for medium size towels for the vanity because the hotel does not provide them. The room was so small and lack almost all the normal and necessary amenities: closets, drawers, space to put your clothing and things, hangers, etc. We felt we were inside a very small box, and you can hardly walk inside. The breakfast was just acceptable, but it should have more variety. And the worst is that the hotel was not cheap. We pay a very high price although I am a Platinum Member of Hotels.com. I will never return to this hotel, and I definitely will not recommend it unless you want to waste your money.

My son stayed in the top bunk and was bitten so badly. The bed clearly had bed bugs. I didn’t check the bed before he had gotten in it because we were tired, but the first night he had so many bites all over his body. I’m usually very careful with looking for bedbugs because my son has an allergic reaction to their bites. I went to front desk to see if I could get another room and front desk was so rude to another customer who was complaining about air conditioning not functioning in their room and they could not change room. The manager who was working the front desk was awkward, rude, and cold during my checkin when my son had hiccups during checkin. This room in general had temporary fixes everywhere. I felt we were stuck in a bad situation. I would never stay here again.

You get what you pay for here - a good budget hotel but with the bare minimum. One measly towel per guest, tiny rooms and somewhat comfortable beds, but for Lucerne it’s great. It’s still pretty pricy but doesn’t compare to the nicer options price wise, this was the cheapest safest thing we could find! All in all, okay stay.

Great Location & Friendly Staff, but Room Size Could Be Better I recently stayed at Ibis Budget Luzern City and overall had a decent experience. The hotel is in a convenient location—just about a 10-minute walk from Luzern train station—which made getting around very easy. The room itself was clean and had all the basic amenities, including free Wi-Fi, which was a nice plus. However, the room was quite small, and there wasn’t much space to move around, especially if you’re traveling with more than one bag. Also, there was no tea or coffee maker provided in the room—you have to purchase hot drinks separately, which was a bit disappointing. On the positive side, the breakfast was quite good with a decent variety, and the hotel staff were excellent—very friendly, professional, and always willing to help. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly place with a good location and don’t mind the compact space, this hotel is a solid choice.
