Value for money in a tiny room
We were travelling with our daughter, and the room had a bunk bed fixed transversely over the head end of the double bed. No issues with this, but there was hardly any space to keep our luggage in the room since it was really tiny. The toilet and bath area were separate, which allowed two to use the facilities simultaneously, but there were no hooks to hang your clothes or towels on, probably because the partitions were all made of thin boards. On the plus side, the rooms were very clean and tidy, and the staff were excellent, going out of their way to help us. We arrived early in the morning, and were offered an early check in when we went there to ask if we could leave the luggage in the reception while we went on a tour. Their breakfast was also reasonably priced, compared to what you would have to pay for just a croissant and coffee in the shops around the town. I would put this as an ideal room for a budget conscious couple, but best avoided if you are travelling with kids or friends, due to the lack of privacy for bathing or using the toilet.

Room was super small, no AC and it smelled bad. We wanted to keep the windows open since it was hot but there was construction outside which kept us up almost all night. Really fits the name ‘budget’ and I certainly would have spent a few more bucks to get a more decent hotel. Regretted this choice

I booked two rooms through Expedia for Ibis Budget Luzern City for August 27-29. I paid through Expedia. However, as I discovered later, the hotel charged me for both rooms. For an entire month, both Expedia and I have been unable to reach anyone with the hotel by either phone or email to resolve the double charge. I am leaving this review as a final step before contacting my credit card company to go through a chargeback process and ask that anyone with the Ibis Budget Luzern City. To any potential guests thinking of booking this hotel, pay attention to the response (or lack of response) to this message.

Properly the worst hotel I have stayed at. The room was dirty and worn down. Not good breakfast - I definitely recommend to find breakfast elsewhere. But the worst thing was the room itself. If there were any hot water in the shower it was fluctuating between burning hot and ice cold. The light in the room didn´t really work and where sometimes blinking during the night.

The location is why it got 2 stars. Very close to the city. Unfortunately, the ac didn’t work and it was super noisy with the window open. You couldn’t close the blinds or shade either (both broken) so it was very bright. I never slept.
