Rooms were comfortable. Food and desserts were absolutely delicious. Rooms were comfortable and views were beautiful. Great location - groceries, casino and night life in walking distance. Certain areas definitely need additional staff as there were long lines. Area for improvement-One person makes the wait for service at The pizza area, the grill shack and the bar by the mexican restaurant too long.

This property was a complete night mare. The check in staff was great, but the front office manager Jovanny was terrible. Attitude was horrible and lacked personal and customer service skills . The ac in my room was broke to include the lobby ac, there was blood on my sheets and the shower overflowed . Trash overflowed through out the resort and the elevators moved very slow . Although the remaining staff was awesome . Johvanny was the manager from hell!!!!!!!

The staff at the property all had an attitude as if the guest are the issue and we shouldn’t have been there. They were understaffed and if this all inclusive drinks being poured were like as if we shouldn’t have been drinking. Review: Sonesta Maho Beach Resort – A Mixed Birthday Getaway Our recent stay at Sonesta Maho Beach Resort was meant to be a relaxing birthday celebration, and while there were moments of joy, the overall experience leaned more toward disappointment than delight. Day One – A Warm Start We arrived early and were welcomed with a chilled scented towel and a glass of Prosecco at check-in—a lovely gesture that set the tone for a celebratory stay. Although our room wasn’t ready yet, the front desk advised that housekeeping had been notified, so we decided to explore the resort. Lunch at The Palms introduced us to Ms. Sharon, the Customer Service Manager, who was a true highlight of our trip. She warmly welcomed us, gave a helpful overview of the property, and even gave us a great food tip: the buffet serves oxtails on Monday afternoons and Thursday nights. Since we were leaving Thursday, we made sure to attend Monday’s lunch, and those oxtails were absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and well-prepared. Room Cleanliness Concerns Unfortunately, once we got into our room, it became clear that housekeeping had overlooked some key areas. When an item fell under the bathroom sink, we discovered cobwebs and visible dirt, indicating that spot hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Additionally, the area around the table closest to the wall in the room had dirt and debris left over from a previous guest. Subject: Complaint Regarding Incorrect Room Type and Poor Customer Service – Sonesta Maho Dear Hotel Manager / Expedia Customer Support, I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, which I booked through Expedia as a special graduation gift for my daughter. My reservation clearly stated a room with double beds, and I verified this not only through Expedia but also directly with Sonesta Maho prior to arrival. Despite this, we were not given our room until 4:30 PM, and when we were finally accommodated, we received a room with only a king bed. As a result, I, a 56-year-old man, was forced to sleep on a pull-out cot—an unacceptable and extremely uncomfortable situation, especially considering this trip was meant to be a celebration. Furthermore, the hotel staff made no effort to accommodate or correct the error, and the customer service I received was subpar and unhelpful. This experience has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. I expect a formal apology, an explanation, and appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and failure to provide the service I paid for.

The property was very clean and the staff was incredible. The only problem I had was the staff took too long to clean the room. It happened twice but overall an excellent vacation.
