Mixed feelings about this hotel because what it truly lacks in architectural finesse you would expect from a 4* hotel, it compensates by the wonderful and helpful attitude from the staff, particularly from the restaurant manager.

I enjoyed my stay here. The manager who I believe is the owner was very kind and hospitable. The location is perfect with plenty of on street parking. The hotel is very clean and I felt comfortable. I do t believe in the area you will find any better. This is top of the line for the area although may night be top of the line for American standards. I am very grateful for the service and hospitality I received at this very nice hotel

Great Hotel, Great Location
Great hotel in a great location. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and even let us check in early. The bar and restaurant offered lovely food and drinks. The room we had overlooked the lake and was very large. All in all a wonderful place to stay and would highly reccommend.

We had a great stay at hotel Moderno. The location is great, the room had a wonderful view, was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Very good value. Would gladly recommend.

Excellent lakeside hotel.
The Albero Moderno is a classic Italian lakeside hotel set in an excellent location on the main square at Lovere Porto. The hotel has a modern interior juxtaposed to original 1930’s features with spacious comfortable bedrooms - some looking over the lake with mountain views. The restaurant is very good with a menu offering local dishes of freshly caught lake fish and other specialities. There is fine outdoor terrace for dining which is a particularly pleasant area to take the excellent breakfast on offer. We found the Albergo staff to be efficient and friendly and would certainly stay there again on our next visit.

Lovely hotel overlooking Lake Iseo. Rooms are large and very clean. Staff is welcoming and always positive. Breakfast was lovely considering usual Italian standard.

run down hotel with hostile owner
They advertised air conditioning but there was none in the room (with 90 degree heat and a very noisy plaza below although opening the window to the sweltering heat was the only option). The very nasty owner came up to the room and stood there and told me it worked when it obviously didn't, which was maddening. The lights had shorts and flickered, it was probably a fire trap. I asked for a fan and she wouldn't even answer me. If I had not prepaid on expedia I might have had some leverage. The shower stall was so small you had to get out to turn around. The dinner was lousy and overpriced in her restaurant. The only positive things I can say is the water pressure in the shower was good and the linens were clean. This is the worst hotel experience I can remember having anywhere.
