Just ok
Lovely old building but the room we had definatly needed a bit more care and attention.cobwebs on the ceiling.wallpaper peeling off the walls, old worn carpet.bathroom shower head would fix into its hold so it had to be held by hand which wasn't ideal.the guy on reception was lovely and took us to our room.bed was comfy and we slept well.breakfast was just ok but the service was great.sorry to day we wouldnt stay here again

Quirky and excellent value. NB all bedrooms are on first floor up steep and rather rickety staircase.
The staff are so friendly. Thank you Ben for all your help and thank you Paul for the beautiful food. We were made to feel so welcome. We will be back. Ann and Pete room 3.
Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in a wonderful old building in an excellent location. Yes the building is in need of a certain amount of renovation, but don’t let this stop you from staying here. The downstairs rooms are full of character and welcoming, but the main draw to staying here is the ethos of what it’s all about. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough for you. Too many names to thank for making this a special place. Long may this establishment continue to thrive.
Amazing we were made to feel welcome from start to finish such a lovely little gem of a place with wonderful helpful staff

Supporting the community.
I always stay at locally owned properties if i can. This hotel is a charity and provides support for local people. There should be a filter so I can see hotels with charitable aims so I can make sure my money is supporting local communities
The staff were the best part of our stay, really warm and friendly, unfortunately the room was very poor. Thick dust and empty wrappers under the bed. We chose not to use the shower as it felt so grubby. The mattress was straight out of the 1970s paper thin with springs jutting out in every direction. The building is absolutely stunning with some amazing original features could be so good but needs massive investment.
It was only an overnight stay so I was looking for somewhere convenient, clean and comfortable at a reasonable price. The Priory Hotel fitted the bill on all counts, not forgetting the nice English breakfast too.
