The front desk staff did not honor my Expedia Gold status. Did not know or care when I brought it up to her. Her and her male coworker laughed when I mentioned it. The food was very poor and the location street leading to resort looks abandoned. The amenities are limited and there’s not enough activities for children. We essentially paid $800 per day and we didn’t come close to getting our moneys worth. We left the resort to dine offsite as well

Everything about this resort was excellent. The facility was clean, safe and well equipped. There was not a shortage of pool chairs as in other resorts and we never had to wait to be seated at the A la carte restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall the value vs cost for this resort is VERY good. I would definitely stay here again

We really enjoyed our stay. Our kids are older (16 & 18) so they were able to enjoy the resort on their own without us following them around. There was always something to do - beach volleyball, water aerobics, waterpolo, ping pong, corn hole etc. We also had access to The Santa Fe next door that had waterslides and parties at night. Not to mention all the different places to get a meal or snack. While at the pool, we loved Pepe’s Grill for tacos. I highly recommend the filet at the steakhouse for dinner. I wish we discovered that earlier. The lobster had an odd consistency to it. San Jose also had good food. As you might expect with an all inclusive resort, it’s hard for all the food to be top of the line. The pizza, Spanish tortilla, tacos, fried chicken, salads, fruit, and French toast were our go to foods. The drinks on the other hand were outstanding! They didn’t skimp on the pours! We worked our way around the drink menu - mostly drinking mojitos and the blended pina coladas or Miami Vice. Overall, it was a great trip. We were there for 5 days and that was perfect. The staff was outstanding- always had the answer to any question and extremely friendly. Also, the cleanliness was impressive. There was always someone sweeping, mopping, cleaning windows, etc. It is a very well run resort.

It was a beautiful resort. Didn't mind that the decor was either outdated or tacky. Staff was as cordial as they needed to be but not friendly. Can't say I blame them since they're watching people enjoy themselves all day. If you like sitting by a pool and drinking and eating all day this is the place for you. Otherwise, you're going to be pretty bored. There's literally nothing going on outside of the resort and it appears reasonably unsafe if you're not on the property. National guard and police everywhere beyond the borders of the resort. All in all I prefer the beaches on the Gulf of Mexico - Clearwater and St. Pete's. Riu does do a good job of making sure you have what you need. Staff will not go above and beyond. I asked for another coffee packet for the room and the cleaning lady said no you already have one.

I’ve stayed at 4 different all inclusive resorts in Cabo now. This resort was pleasant. The staff was friendly but no one ever called me by my name as others have at different resorts. This resort has a lot of people and staff so I didn’t care that they didn’t remember or even ask my name. We were there for a wedding which the staff did a fantastic job prepping for and catering to everyone’s needs. Clearly they have handled many weddings. We spent most evenings in town so we really never partook in any of the nightly entertainment festivities. The gym is very small. That was the only real knock I have of the property. The rooms were clean as was the rest of the resort. The food at the buffet was overall good within some things I didn’t like but most was fine. We had went fishing and caught Marlin and wahoo and brought some of the wahoo back to the resort and the chefs were happy to cook it for us and did a fantastic job. Uber rides into town were about $5 each way which wasn’t bad. The rooms and the 24hr lounge had bottles of booze mounted on the wall and the fridges were always stocked so that was pleasantly different than the other resorts we’ve stayed at. The RIU Santa Fe is next door and a sister property so you can use their facilities. My wife used their gym and said it was bigger but was busy. I’d stay again
