When checking in they said that my kids should have been charged as adults. But when booking in Expedia, we did list the kids age. RIU charged me another $900 for my stay but kept the same size room which was originally booked as two beds but was one king size bed for the four of us in my family. RIU did want provide any alternatives. This was quite disappointing as we have sent lots of business to this resort and we were there with 2 other families because of us.

Much needed vacation for me and the hubby❤️ This is our 2nd time at this location and never a dull moment and amazing trip. Luis the bartender was awesome, always had a shot or drink for us. E definitely will be back again and more.

Property was as expected, perhaps could use some repairs and upgrades. Buffets were GREAT. Fine dining was average. On the negative: Bombay Indian restaurant it was simply put -HORRIBLE. I am from that part of the world, I understand Indian / Pakistani food, I want you to believe me, they have got it all wrong. In RIU palaces' defense, it appears to me and my wife, whoever was or is in charge of the recipes, is MOST PROBABLY upset for something and is now trying to back-stab the company. Nothing, I mean, Nothing, tasted correct. Poor staff wanted to blame their Mexican Cooks. We told them it is not their fault; someone has got it all wrong. Lobster Biryani (sounds scrumptious) OMG!! Other than the overcooked lobster, my wife actually sent the biryani back, we still don't know what that was. The gulab Jamun (seems easy, it can be purchased frozen) But -OMG, we have no idea what the heck that was, but for sure it was NOT Gulab Jamun. Terrible experience. I beg the management to bring in a proper Indian Chef to another look at the recipes, team, they are WRONG.

The overall property is beautiful and service is good. The room service is a bit slow and would generally even forget and you would have to call them again. The pools were nice and clean. The food overall was fine just very limited options they have the same buffet no changes which isn’t great if you are spending 4-5 days

At the pool bar, drinks were made haphazardly, mint wasn't crushed for mojitos. Sometimes felt like I was a nuisance while ordering drinks at the pool bar. At the buffet, once the tomatoes were spoiled and on another occasion the pico was spoiled

Riu’s staff weren’t strict about the rules! People reserved the lounge chairs with their towels, so it means those chairs weren’t cleaned over night like the other areas. Last day we went to the bar pool in the early morning and all the good spots were already taken from the night before! The management weren’t good at all! The live shows weren’t entertaining of you weren’t so drunk!
