The property was great, service, staff however the entertainment was lacking. Yes they had the Riu Party next door however if you’re a bit older you can only handle so much it really targeted the 20 year old crowd. The entertainment at the Palace ended by 9pm and often was just a piano player. Having some entertainment in the upstairs lobby bar which is such a lovely setting until at least 10pm would have made the trip so much better. Quite often we didn’t finish having dinner until 9pm and by that time the hotel was very sleepy. Also some music in the restaurants and some dimmed lighting would have added to the ambience. Without it they felt more like eating in a higher end buffet. I do have to say that the chefs were so accommodating to prepare gluten free menu and went out of their way to ensure we had enough options to eat it was fantastic.

Not proper welcoming They ran out of food and drink as we arrived first day they had onion rings which was very cold and upset my stomach. Rooms are not good at all.

I wish I can recommend this resort, but I can’t. At the end, I was so eager to go home, because it was just the small things adding up that really affected our stay. The beds are so uncomfortable, the WiFi does not work, and room cleaning was inconsistent. The room service arrived cold and inedible. They really do the bare minimum. The entertainment options sucked, especially at night. There wasn’t a whole lot going on at this resort. You had to go to Santa Fe for anything remotely fun. The entertainment team was pretty funny, though. The food was okay, not horrible. We enjoyed the buffet and Japanese restaurant. The pool was fun and had a great view. The pool service was great, too. It was annoying laying towards the beach and having vendors yell at you all day. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again. But some of the staff were amazing, like Jorge in the lobby bar and Orlando on the entertainment team.

I thought the room was pretty clean and the staff were friendly. However, our first night my 20 month old baby managed to push the glass off the coffee table. It shattered all over the living room. When I called the front desk all they cared to tell me was how much it was going to cost me. They didn’t care to ask how my son was. I couldn’t believe that my 24 pound baby would manage to push it off on its own. Luckily my parents were staying in another room and we discovered that they coffee table did not have any glass holders so their table also very easy to push the glass. When I mentioned to the front desk people they didn’t care at all. It’s definitely a safety hazard. How can they be advertising that they are family friendly when their coffee tables in many multiple areas of the hotel are unsafe. Even the ones on top of the night stands had no grip and they were so easy to move. They made me pay before I checked out and didn’t seem to care one bit that it was very unsafe for anyone who stays there with little ones. So if you are staying with your little ones please move the coffee table away and make the glass has the safety grips on.
