Westin Pasadena

Very happy overall but the shower curtain was not adequate to keep the water from seeping out and flooding the floor. The hair dryer needed to be replaced and the toilet paper holder was coming off the wall. Pleasant staff and helpful.

The location is excellent - right near City Hall and Plaza de las Fuentes. The bed was amazingly cozy, the room was peaceful and quiet, and the lobby and office area were beautiful. Overall I really enjoyed my stay. A few gripes: - The parking garage is not in/out. Each time you go in the meter starts over (up to $19 per day). A few times I parked outside or around Pasadena to avoid double paying for one day. - The whole hotel has dim lights and is fairly dark, with dark carpet and dark furniture. Some people may be bothered by that type of thing. - The room had a slow-draining tub with a shower curtain, which felt a little more two-star to me. - They put perfume into the ventilation so it smells a little but like an Abercrombie store. Overall however, I had a good time at the Westin :)

Top notch

I’ve stayed here a couple of times, and it does not disappoint! The rooms feel luxe, and rock-solid. I never hear a peep from adjacent rooms. The bed is to-die-for comfy. Fantastic location, great food. Parking is a bit pricey but is in line with other hotels of this caliber, and the valets are always attentive and quick. I really like this hotel.

Lobby was warm and welcoming with Harry Potter like ambiance (I think it was the lights they had). I loved the refreshing citrus like scent every time I walked by the lobby. Receptionist who helped us check in was very polite, friendly and professional. Property is located in a quiet and cozy neighborhood. Our room was a bit on a small size but looked very nice and clean. Clean bathroom was definitely a plus for me. Next time I return to LA area, I would definitely return to this hotel. Highly recommend this place.

These are the deficiencies: 1. There was a blood stain on the bed sheet, clearly visible. 2. The glasses in the restaurant/bar did not appear to have been washed. 3. Most hotels have vending machines on the floors that dispense soft drinks and bottled water. I was told at the front desk, that if I wanted water, go to the restaurant/bar. It’s a great location, but I will not stay here again.

The building, location, and staff are very good. The price of parking is a bit steep but comes with the territory. My one critique is that in the past when I've stayed there the coffee in the lobby was good quality and free. Now the coffee (still good) is not free which seems to me that the hotel is trying to squeeze every cent it can from the customer. As it is the customer is paying high rates for the hotel, parking, and taxes - is it to much to ask to give a little back Westin? I guess so...
