The heater in the room was broken. They could not fix it. No room was available to change. The manager was not very helpful

Staff made it feel like home

I was there for business right after the fires. Many displaced home owners and first responders were in my hotel. The entire stafff—each and every one—warmed my heart with their kindness and efforts to make the hotel feel like a home for those effected. Huntley fan for life

Good but older hotel

Older hotel in Santa Monica. Good service but rooms are small and showing their age. Great views from the higher floors - that’s probably why ppl stay here. But I found the rooms to be very small and there is very little sound privacy. You could hear every word someone was saying in the hallway, which means they can hear you on the phone too! Friendly staff though and walking distance to many things.

All in all it is not a very guest-friendly hotel: Check in was not that great. We asked for a room away from the elevator and we went to the room and it was literally right next to the elevator. It wouldn't have been so bad if the elevator didn't have the obnoxious voice telling you what floor you are on and you practically have to wear earplugs to not go deaf from the floor pronouncement on each and every floor (that you can hear all the way to the rooms which is why we didn't want a room by the elevator). We ended up having to wait in line again to get reassigned to another room. Another annoying thing about the rooms are that they don't automatically come with a refrigerator or microwave. I take that back, there is a fridge, but it is full of alcoholic beverages leaving no room for any of your perishables. When we requested a fridge, they brought a fridge that looked like it had been through WWII. Very inconsistent with the modern decor of the room. A third thing is that the valets are very aggressive if you don't want to park your car there. They give you only 20 minutes to check in before who knows what happens to your car. They also don't let you use a cart if a valet doesn't help you.
