So so.

The hotel car park was shut so I ended up paying nearly £10 parking. Not great and this should have been detailed as one of my requirements was on site parking. Room tired and didn’t have USB plugs by the bed which is expected as a minimum these days. Bathroom needs serious update.

It says there is parking available on-site, which was evidently incorrect when we arrived due to a road closure. This could be outlined online. The room was nice, but the shower was a tough squeeze with the fixed partition and the showerhead really low down for someone like me who is tall. Overall, a decent stay and good location.

My daughter and I spent a whole month traveling through Ireland and the Malden Hotel Derry was the very best experience we had in terms of service and hospitality! The Derry Girls at reception were simply wonderful!

Budget Hotel

Limited parked and had to use a public car park further away, room is quite dated, walls are thin and we were woken up by the next room at 7am, pillow was so big I had to sleep without one. Only plus is that it’s in a convenient location to the shops and bars.

It's a shame to have to leave a negative review as I stayed here a few times a few years back. Now the rooms look dated and the breakfast isn't a patch on what it used to be. The staff are mostly lovely apart from the numpty youth in the restaurant 🙄 I couldn't get the temperature right in my room as the radiator valve seemed to be either on full or off. Sadly we arrived when the thicko's were banging their drums and generally making a nuisance of themselves and quite a lot of them were staying in the Maldron. It's not the hotel's fault that their clientele are educationally sub-normal but neither does it make for a pleasant experience for the rest of the guests. Lastly there's the price - I know prices have gone up since Covid AND it's Christmas season but £175 a night without breakfast is a bit steep for this place. I'll certainly shop around more carefully when I come back to Derry.
