Hotel and room well situated, newly refurbished, clean and secure. Bed, shower, lighting and power outlets all modern and well laid out. Room faced the courtyard bar, so a little noisy at night but peaceful (for London) in the morning. I used their shackle app for check in and room key - I found this was difficult to check in and out successfully but the key feature worked well. The check in desk (specifically for sleeper guests) was quiet, so it would not have been a problem to avoid the app.

Lovely stay

The room was lovely, the bed was so comfortable, bathroom is very small but it's fine. Loved the light up mirror! Hotel was very quiet, service was great everyone was friendly. My only issue is it was really really hot and the pillows were too big so I had a neck ache using one and two so one the original size and one a bit smaller would have been great. Great location also

Modernised but noisy

Nicely modernised apart from lack of room temperature control and single glazed windows making it a very noisy stay with the bar below. Despite the renovations, I had a faulty shower.

Excellent location, very comfortable room

A fantastic hotel. Superb value. Very reasonably priced but the location was excellent. The room was clean, had lovely hair shampoos, conditioner and body wash. The bed was super comfy. It was quiet. I had a great stay. I had a pizza from the restaurant which i brought back to the room, really nice. There is nothing to complain about. I would recommend.

Excellent stay.

The City Sleeper was great. Beds are very comfortable. The room seemed newly renovated, modernized and were clean. Water pressure in the showers is so awesome! The location is perfect. Quick walking distance to Russell Square Underground (5 mins). Lots on local pubs, restaurants and shops all around. Would definitely stay here again if i was back in London. My only complaint is how little sound proofing there is between rooms and the hall. You could hear neighbours speaking, doors closing and people walking by. If you are a light sleeper, ear plugs are a must.

Always a great stay.

Have stayed at the City Sleeper at Royal National Hotel many times and it's always brilliant. The City Sleeper in an upgrade section of the larger Royal National Hotel. Overall it's a busy hotel but exceptionally well run with first class service. Breakfast at only £12 is amazing. Convent Garden and the Theatres are only a 20 minute walk away. The British Museum is only 5 minutes away. Highly recommended.
