Breakfast is Frustrating, Don’t Pay for it
I booked and paid with breakfast, what they served is only slice bread, egg, small packets of jams and coffee. I don’t drink coffee so I asked for juice or water but they said they don’t serve, so that’s disappointing and frustrating.
Lastly, during checkout I waited for about 15mins because no one in the reception area, total of 6 people waited.
We was due to stay at this hotel booked and paid extra deposit - then we was moved to another hotel which caused us further hassle and more stress and deteriorated my mental health - wouldnt use this hotel again

I turned up there was a drunken lady on the floor by reception.
My damage depsit was taken and only then was I told that I was not actually staying there. (I had carried ny bags into reception already). I complaines syaing that they should have told me that before taking any deposit as it was now gone out of my account.
I was sent around the corne (in the car) to a sister hotel.
There was no parking and for that I had to park at another sister hotel around the corner and walk back to the hotel.
The sister hotel was called lucky 8 and to our relief there was nothing wrong with the room and it was a nice stay overnight.
First there was no room available only to be told after i paid £100 deposit. They took me to park hotel which is full of homeless people and women with children playing everywhere like a kindergarten. The place was smelling like hell. I declined the first room they offered me which smelling of cigarettes and had cigarette ends on the window seal. The other room was so hot and fun or anything to cool the room There was no breakfast as said on the booking. People were fighting throughout the night..
Waste of money and this hotel should be investigated. The bed was broken on one end.
Would not even recommend my worst enemy to stay there.
We definitely should have looked at the reviews better before staying at this place. Our first impression of the room itself was terrible. Worn down, dirty, there were rodent traps everywhere?! It also smelled terrible. We were too scared to sleep under the covers provided because of how unclean the room was. The bed was also basically just springs to sleep on. The location itself was also very uncomfortable, very noisy at night and felt unsafe in general to walk around. There wasn’t much around except to get the hell out of there. If the hotel was reasonably priced it wouldn’t be as much of an issue, you get what you pay for - except it was in no way a cheap hotel. Price does not match value.
Bit of lack of communication as well - we were told we would receive our deposit back within 3 days. It’s been a week now and still no deposit, and I can’t get in touch with the hotel via the chat.
Booked at Britannia, stayed before and good, moved to Lucky 8 due room mtce probs - sister hotel great; restful, comfortable sleep, appreciate the toiletries and tea/coffee etc. Ilford high st is nearby, great choice of cuisine and shops. Parking for me was great, had a space all days, quiet neighbourhood.
We arrived at the hotel, unpacked our car of our cases, checked in to be told we had to then get back into our car and drive to another hotel up the road (not walkable so good job we had a vehicle). We were informed there would be parking at the other hotel. There were spaces but they had bollards to prevent you parking there. The receptionist for some reason couldn’t release a space and we had to park opposite the hotel but move the car by 8am (there goes the holiday lay in). The cupboard doors are hanging on by one hinge. The room was next to the breakfast room so noisy in the morning. The cleaner started hoovering outside our room at 8am and woke my son. The pillows also need replacing. They were hard and flat. A very uncomfortable night. Lastly I plugged the kettle in for a well needed cuppa which didn’t work. I let the cleaner know and they said they would bring us a new one later, needless to say we didn’t get one.
For us the main issue was having to drive to another hotel, reluctance to assist with parking despite parking spaces available and noise.
This hotel was booked for two key workers .
On arrival the hotel demanded £100.00 per room - totalling £200.00, despite the website stating one deposit
They also demanded ID from all guests, these could not be given as neither worker had such in their possession, the hotel refused entry and also refused to refund monies paid for booking.
we book on average for workers 35 rooms per month and never have we received such diabolical service , Britannia hotels WILL NEVER be used again.
I came to hotel and they check me in and then they say they have to transfer me to another hotel? If there is maintenance issue then don’t let people to book into the hotel in that location in the first place very unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour
