We enjoyed our stay at the City Hotel. The breakfast was substantial and delicious, and the location was perfect- a few minutes walk to the old town restaurants and shops, and a 7 minute walk to the main bus station. The tours we booked also picked us up in front of the hotel which was convenient. Our room was a little hot and stuffy- we couldn't get the thermostat to cooperate- but the bed was comfortable and the shower spacious.

Great location In Ljubljana

We had stopped in Ljubljana after a driving trip around Slovenia to go to the Friday nite Open Kitchen. This hotel was in the perfect location to return our rental car,be close to Open Kitchen and the center of town, and catch our train the next day. It does cater to bus tours so you get that energy, but the breakfast offered is excellent and there is a gym. My one recommendation might be to try and improve the gym size/offerings. Since this hotel hosts large groups, there’s no way it comes close to accommodating more than a couple of people and in summer, I’m not sure it would be comfortable. Other than that, everything was very comfortable and staff was lovely.

A very good hotel. All the reception staff were very helpful and friendly. We had room upgrades, which was appreciated. The hotel stored our bags when we arrived, whilst waiting for our rooms to be ready. The rooms were large and comfortable, with good quality linens. Breakfast was taken on the ground floor and had plenty of choice, fresh and restocked regularly. Most often we needed to make up our own table to fit the size of our party, and sometimes the collection of plates was a little slow, but neither was much of a problem. The free drinks in place of room cleaning was a good idea. The downstairs bar area might benefit from a little modernising - it is clean and tidy, but just a little old in style.

Lovely Hotel and Perfect Location

The size of our room was quite spacious. The buffet breakfast was excellent offering many food choices. We could designate which days we wanted our room to be cleaned. One of the most important features was the location of City Hotel Ljubljana -- it was easily within walking distance to the Old City and sites of interest, as well as to the bus station on our day of departure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at City Hotel and would highly recommend it!

This is a lovely hotel and worth the money. Friendly reception team. Lovely buffet breakfast was included (although get there early as it gets busy!). This is walking distance to the train station and main sites which was helpful.
