Self service everywhere

Check yourself in and cut your own room key - novelty value fast wears off!. Given the wrong wrong - apparently computer issue, as people don’t do anything. Restuarant (breakfast) service does not exist and staff deeply unmotivated. Bacon is like cardboard and inedible. Great hotel let down by economising over guest value and experience.

Soundproofing needs work big time for both trains and people in surrounding rooms/floors above as it sounded like herds of elephants when everyone came back I’ve stayed in hotels next to airports with no noise disturbance from planes at all but the trains at lime street sounded like thunder every 15 mins or so

Nice hotel but put the heating on

Nice hotel nice and central but the room was freezing and no towel rail. Shower took for ever to warm up too.

Total self-serve and pretty rubbish service

It’s an interesting hotel that has been sensitively created from an old mainline station building. BUT it scores low on service. Checkin is entirely self-serve - you even programme your own room keys. On this return occasion (and I use the hotel for proximity to Lime Street Station and the Liverpool Empire), I was allocated a room in categories significantly lower than booked. Once I noticed the error it was quickly resolved, but it’s worrying how there is no review of what’s booked versus what “the system” allocates. Service throughout, but especially in the restaurant at breakfast, is poor. Breakfast is a totally self-service buffet and staff seem uninterested and demotivated. When a manager turned up, there was a significant gear change in activity, but it was a poor experience … and one without even any orange juice. The breakfast buffet here is also never great. Several times I’ve eaten here and, on every occasion, the bacon is cooked under a heat lamp and hot plate until almost all moisture has gone from it and just hard, dry bacon remains.
