bed was old and falling apart, bath and shower had loads of paint on them celing was leaking, carpet in room had some pitted in chewing gum, the entire hotel smelt of damp and rotten wood didnt smell fresh at all

Decent hotel I reckon!
Just stayed for work in the area. Overall great value at 42 pounds per 1 night stay plus 7.50 parking. (December) Comfortable room and bed and decent hot shower. Quite quiet for a busy outside city life, so got good solid sleep. 24 hour staff and night porters are good too, so you can pop in and out for your smokes.

The establishment has seen much better days, but it's one of our go-to places for an odd night in Liverpool. Generally, it's been better than its ratings suggest, so long as you dont eat the food. This time wasn't so good at all. The bathroom in the bar had a major problem, solved by a load of towels on the floor. The bathroom in the room had seen better days and nothing worked as it should, even though it could be made to function. On the plus side, the room, though smallish, was dry, warm and comfortable. Still a good place to stay for a good night on the town

Lifts wasn’t in great working order , paid for breakfast which I wish I hadn’t - cold English breakfast and wasn’t nice at all , doors beeping all night next to the room. Guests rowing and shouting early hours - no signs of hotel staff to de escalate

Beautiful reception and downstairs, but standard rooms are poor to fair, windows don’t shut in some rooms and hence very drafty as widows are old and in need of attention, heard the same complaints from many guests

Spoiled by initial checking
The man on reception set the tone as he acted like a bear with a sore tooth , no eir contact, tried to engage him in conversation and got nothing back. The room was ok but the tv had a very limited number of channels available wouldn’t have been a problem but as a frequent traveller I always ask for a full working tv and remote control. Checked out in the morning where the women was very helpful and even gave directions .

Visit to the christmas market.
Comfortable clean room. Sink plug was missing, a chip in the bath which is starting to rust, no bedside lamps, small things. Good breakfast. Overall though a very enjoyable stay, we love the character of the hotel. We have stayed afew times previously and would do so again.

The queue at check-in was so long it took 30mins. I went to reception an hour later and it was the same. This hotel charges £7 a day for wifi, £13 a day for parking. The room was disgusting. Old, grubby, tired. I stayed at The Adelphi as a child and it was very posh. Faded glory . Extremely overpriced.

For what was once and could be again, an awesome old building. This place is awful. It’s so run down and neglected. Rooms remind me of a bedsit or student accommodation. Paid for breakfast. But no orange juice as machine broke. No bacon left. No scrambled egg. No bread to toast. When mentioned to staff they said they would sort it but would take a while. Just about waited long enough to see barely cooked bacon come out but that was it. Certainly not worth what we paid for the breakfast. I have seen better youth hostels than this.

The best part is convenient to town centre , the hotel is ok 👍, bit noisy if your in the front rooms as no double glazing. Waiting to get checked in took a while , also the car park was really full, and only one lift working so always queing. But really enjoyedmy weekend over all

No words. After a lovely afternoon. To check in with difficulty, key card useless, one lift working and ! Room not cleaned. As if someone had just left! Towels n bathroom floor. Bin full. Bed unmade.Bedding on the floor. Reception 25 minutes later, while l stand in the 3rd floor corridor, as no proper hotel room, daughter returns with another room key card. Another luxurious back to Victorian times bedroom. Nothing touched for many years, decoration, maintenance wise. Queen Victoria would be appalled. £200 for one night. Someone who is making a profit on less than hostel style accommodation. Poor show. Daughter and I a special time together but, spoiled slightly by accommodation. Lovely day , nice evening out. Accommodation absolutely dreadful. Will go to deaf ears anyway.
