On arrival in our room number 220 2nd Floor there was a really bad drain smell in the bathroom. Overpowering when you entered and, if the door was ajar the smell seeped into the room. There was no point complaining as, i knew there was no benefit as there were no other rooms available in the hotel. When we drew back the curtains, i couldn't believe it, our view was a brick wall. Early Sunday morning we were asleep in bed when the fire alarm sounded. I cannot tell you the panic that went through us both. As we were sleeping this was very traumatic. We learnt that this was a false alarm. We tried to forget about this and carried on with our day.
We were in bed, asleep on Sunday evening when, once again the fire alarm sounds. I am now a nervous wreck, I think this cant possibly be another false alarm. We scrabble to dress and file our the hotel once again. Guests were being told it was for our own safety. I asked "Can you tell me why it is for our safety to have the fire alarm go off in the night, night after night? The girl shrugged and said its for your own safety and walked away from me. In reception however, one member of staff was being honest with guests and explained that there was a fault with the sensors and the steam from the showers were triggering the alarms. I left in tears.
