It has been 20 years since I last stayed here and it was like stepping back in time. Katherine was so kind and welcoming as we checked in and kindly offered to store our surf boards for the night. The cats, chickens and peahens and peacocks added charm and entertainment to our breakfast by the pool. Staff were so kind and made us feel at home...good memories pf old family and aloha.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Comfortable room. The breakfast is good, with muffins, bagels, croissants, fresh tropical fruit, cereal and oatmeal. There are outdoor seating areas around the pool and in lawn/garden areas. It has nice views of hills, but not much else around hotel.

Beautiful natural views, friendly wildlife & a kind, cozy place. The Kaua’i Inn is situated underneath gorgeous mountains and is lush with beautiful flowers and tropical flora. Vivid flowers dot the common areas of the inn like hibiscuses and plumerias, giving it a striking splash of color. Wild chickens & peacocks freely walk around the property. These birds are friendly, which make for great photo opportunities. Cute, small geckos also call the property home, as well as several neighborhood house cats. The staff is very warm and friendly, ready to help even without asking, like when one staff member kindly brought us extra towels while we swam in the pool. The Kaua’i inn is very cozy and our room was the perfect size for a vacationing couple looking to relax and enjoy the slow, easygoing pace of Kaua’i. It was very neat and clean. We are very happy with our time there. Mahalo, Kaua’i Inn, for making our stay as beautiful as your inn.

Very unique, vintage Hawaiian accommodation. Great staff! Loved the chickens, roosters and peacocks roaming the property and I loved the cats. Enjoyed live music at the pool area on Mondays and Wednesdays. Happy that we stayed at the Kauai Inn for our first visit to Kauai!

My stay at Kauai Inn was great. The inn is located in a quiet and serene area, offering a peaceful stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing everything I needed to relax. The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch, with simple yet tasty options to start the day. One of the highlights was the peacocks roaming the grounds—they added a unique and fun vibe to the stay. I highly recommend Kauai Inn for anyone looking for a tranquil and welcoming place to stay in Kauai!

Nice mountain views. Animals like cats, roosters/hens, peacock and a goose roam the grounds. Supposed to be live music on 2 of the days we were there. We only got 1 day. Upon returning from our activities for the day, we found the room was not serviced. We even asked for additional towels before leaving that morning. The continental breakfast was pretty basic –bread/ bagels, sugary cereals, packaged oatmeal, yogurt, coffee, some tropical fruits. There was one conveyer toaster and 2 single cup coffee makers. One was out of order. Not practical for the high traffic during breakfast. Rooms were large and clean but dated. Lamps on the nightstand used pull chains instead of switches to turn on/off lights. Didn’t always work the first try. Door lock used a key and was finicky. Had to ask the staff to show me the “technique” in opening it. Drapes and sheer curtains didn’t completely cover the entire window. Curtain rods not long enough? No phone or clock in the room. Bathroom was narrow with no hooks to hang things. Some of the louvered windows lacked handles to open/close them. The Niumalu Rd Bridge was closed and understood it had been closed for months. There is only one way out using Hulemalu and Halehaka Roads adding additional travel time, if you’re heading north. For those not used to night driving, where there is no ambient lighting, that can be challenging. No restaurants/stores in the vicinity. Bring what you need or be prepared to drive out or take a looong walk.

The Kauai Inn has a lot of history and you can feel it once you are on the property. Cats roam the proprty with peacocks. You may even spot a wild pig. You can hear Hawaiian music throughout the property. The gorgeous mountains in the background take you to another time. Unfortunately, we did not get to stay for the breakfast included in the price.
