Cool design throughout the hotel with a lot of cool extras and snacks in the room. I am from the area so I like how the hotel celebrates it and emphasizes local attractions for visitors.

Manchester Hotel is Junk
I had the worst experience ever. I had visitors I wanted to impress so The Manchester hotel photos and total charge of of $514 per night got my attention. I was expecting a ‘four season’ kind of experience. So, I booked two rooms for one night and paid a total of $1024.00. BUT I was shocked when I got there. First, the hotel was located in the most dilapidated and distressed part of Lexington right beside a greasy multi lane train depot. The lobby was a deflation from the posted photos. The checkin was smooth. The elevator was old and all the ceramic tiles and grout were chipping and gross. There was unpleasant smell in the cabin. On exiting at our floor, the carpet was clean but the hallway has a musty smell as if it has had constant exposure to smoke or poor ventilation. When we got into the two rooms, the air was so choky. The thermostat was set at 66 F so it had a winter feeling but the cold air did not help with the stench and choky feeling The rooms were also very small with very narrow spaces between the beds and the walls. One window looks right at multiple tracks of loaded trains. At that point, I called hotel.com and informed them I cannot stay. They said ok, that I can cancel but when they called the manager at Manchester, she refused to refund my payment, even HALF the payment. So, Manchester KEPT my $1024.00 for nothing. While I LEFT and paid for rooms in another hotel. Manchester advertisement at Hotel.com is deceitful and I hold hotel.com accountable.

This place was great, from the valet to the check in desk, and the room. Gorgeous aesthetics and the bar was great. Easy walk to Rupp arena and brunch at the Granddam restaurant on site was superb.

The Manchester is a beautiful hotel. My partner and I stayed for one night as we were in Lexington for a concert. Our room was well appointed, with nice touches like a pour-over coffee option and a customized greeting on the TV screen when we entered. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the decor was lovely. The person who assisted with our check-in process was very warm and welcoming. The hotel’s proximity to and from the Rupp Arena was also a great perk, as we were able to save on an Uber by walking. Unfortunately, I had to dock a couple of stars for service and noise levels. We visited the downstairs bar twice, once for a pre-show round of cocktails and later for a nightcap. Both times, the service was slow and the bartenders were inattentive to the point of flat out ignoring us. My partner ordered a drink that never arrived, and we couldn’t get anyone’s attention…it seemed like they forgot about us, even though there were multiple staff members behind the bar and few patrons. I’ve worked in the service industry before and get that things can happen behind the scenes that impact service levels, but it’s kind of a bummer to spend so much for drinks plus tip and feel like you’re an inconvenience. The noise levels from either the rooftop bar or the nightclub down the street were excessive. The bass thump couldn’t be blocked out, even with white noise apps. This went on until about 1 AM. If these issues were addressed, this would have been a 5-star stay for us.

The Manchester is a beautiful hotel that provided a comfortable stay for 2 evenings in Lexington. The level of detail and materials used in designing the room are excellent, especially the beautiful tile work in the bathroom. The rooftop bar offered some exceptional cocktails and small bites, although the service sometimes lagged—we were ignored on a Friday night for some 10 minutes and finally just left. The convenient valet service was a reasonable price and the did an excellent job of retrieving our car whenever we needed it.
