don’t normally do bad reviews... but
Arrived evening about 21:00 on a Monday, in France Monday is a no no as everything is closed, I would not expect a hotel to be quite so reluctant to serve its customers, absolute no possibility of food that evening and breakfast was from 08:30, we were leaving at 07:30, not even an offer to leave something out for us. The toilet in our room was positioned in such a way you had to sit on it sideways and the cistern was broken, I repaired it for them...nothing good I am afraid, despite the beautiful setting, this was like stepping back in time to the mid 70’s version of service..awful.

The location is lovely. An awkward room to get to. The plumbing drains did not work all that well.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Food in the restaurant was excellent.
Shower did not work properly. Lights did not work but were quickly sorted.
beautiful village for a stopover. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Auberge de l'Abbeye was beautiful. The host was very welcoming and the room was cozy. The town is very small with one small market, so make sure you come stocked up if you are arriving a little later.
We stopped on the way to the ferry at Caen, and this was a wonderful interlude in the trip home. Charming location, excellent food, interesting village. Would stay here again.
Hotel basically ok, room and bathroom very tired in need of refurbishment. Restaurant very good indeed. Beware church bells chime all night on the hour and half hour just across the road, not for those who are light sleepers.
