This is the first time we’ve stayed here and will definitely go back . Great value with a lovely relaxed atmosphere . The room was beautifully clean with several touches that took it up to another level ( well done to the staff ) my husband was extremely impressed with the fire precautions. His words ( the best he’s ever seen ) he’s now retired but his job was a fire prevention officer with the fire brigade. So great praise to the owners for the safety of the building staff & customers..we will be back
The stay had potential to be lovely.
My issue is that nowhere on hotels.com does it state that the hotel is extremely haunted. However when you arrive at the property this information is shoved down your neck.
Staff were discussing people leaving toys for dead children, people reporting their necks being grabbed by 'ghosts'.
The most haunted has been filmed there and regular ghost hunt type overnight stays are promoted.
As a woman staying at this hotel on her own i felt very uncomfortable and if id known this information beforehand never would have stayed.
Unfortuneatly by time this information came to light (after i had checked in) the cancellation policy doesnt allow you to move without loosing all of the money paid.

A character Inn
A great place to stay. It's full of atmosphere and character. A must for the readers of Daphne du maurier's
book, Jamaica Inn.
The food was very good and I can recommend the breakfast. All in all a really nice place to stay.
So. My husband was so excited to stay here.
It was a lovely clean room. Hot meal cooked in the resturant.
Dog friendly - not something we look for because of allergies but i know that will be a plus.
Museum great, staff know thwir history.
We gonto bed. Fall asleep. Then are abruptly woken at 02:30 am by the fire alarm. We grab our jumpers and go stand in the rain on bodmin moore. No guidance from the hotel. We go back in. Staff say nothing. Find it very hard to settle down. We get up and go 5o breakfast. No staff mention it. We check out. No mention or apology from the staff. Perhaps this is a regular occurance.
Room was great and bed very comfortable. We look out over the moor on a full moon night...loved it.
One con - the room was overheated and our radiator wasn't on. We had to take the duvet out of the cover to get some sleep.
Dinner and breakfast was delicious - lots of choice
I had the most amazing 3-night stay at Jamaica Inn for my Birthday. The trip could not have been better and the accommodation was really lovely in rooms 27 & 28 on the first floor. The rooms were clean, warm and beautifully presented with nice toiletries provided.
Full English breakfasts and evening meals in the Restaurant were a treat and a good selection on offer catering for all dietary requirements. Plenty of cosy snugs and bar areas to sit, eat and drink.
The staff were exemplary, very kind, friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Would thoroughly recommend Jamaica Inn for all the reasons above.
We have stayed here several times as we love the rooms, staff, atmosphere and food. Its always a must on our way to Cornwall or on the way back. This time we stayed in room 37 upstairs in the new part of the property as our usual room wasnt available. Room was lovely but on the small side with a double bed however good view over Bodmin moor. Ate in the restaurant the food is gorgeous and the staff cant do enough for you. Didnt sleep too well as the room was extremely hot and not used to sleeping in a much smaller bed. Breakfast was lovely and again delicious. Will definitely be staying here again
Absolutely love this place. We have stayed here a few times as we love it..Becky welcomed us on reception she is lovely. We stayed in our favourite room 39. Food is gorgeous we definitely recommend the ribs. We slept really well in the 7ft bed. Breakfast was delicious and lots of it. Will be back again soon to stay again.
I stayed for a 2 night stayover, i can't find fault with Jamaica Inn, absolutely full of character, staff were amazing, and they couldn't do enough for you. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The museum i was only disappointed because i didnt have enough time to take it all in, there was so much of interest. Always worth a stay over
