Each “room” is an actual, repurposed, caboose. The restaurant is an actual dining car and the store has lots of train themed memorabilia, including a history of how the hotel came into being.

Nice experience. the Caboose are actually not very nice inside and a little run down (nothing worked: TV’s, AC Ect…). The kids loved it. Seems safe. The location is amazing.

It’s unique to sleep in a caboose in the middle of Amish farmland country! We loved the experience of being part of train history. The rooms are simple, but very clean. You have your own space, with a restaurant on the property. There are a couple cabooses that are split into 2 reservable rooms with separate entrances, but most of them you have the whole caboose to yourselves. The dinner food was excellent & staff was very friendly. It was very quiet at night as it is out in a farmland community but very close to Lancaster County attractions. Beautiful property!

A Unique Experience
It was a fun experience. However there are some things you should know. The bathroom that includes the shower and toilet are smaller than some closets. It is very difficult to dress in the small space, so if you have family members, it is either that or there is no privacy for dressing. The bunk beds are not made for adults. They are mattresses on a wood surface and short. Was it a fun stay? yes, just because of the experience. Was it comfortable? no. I'm glad we did it, but would not do again with a family.

Such a fun place! Get there at check in time because there is plenty to do & see! Loved the animals, enjoyed the restaurant & vending area has a souvenir penny machine. All the staff were super nice. Not a fancy type of place but room was clean and comfy.

As train enthusiasts, we really enjoyed our stay at the Red Caboose Motel. Great location in the country with easy access to Railroad Museum of PA and the National Toy Train Museum, spending the night in a caboose just added to the fun. The views were amazing and the Casey Jones Restaurant located on-site made for a perfect stay.

Novelty and experience beat fancy evey time
Wonderful people, they waited for us to arrive a little late. The motel is such a novelty to stay in a train caboose and have so many things to do regarding trains in the area. Definitely coming back!
