Dirty room and rude owner. WE CLEANED for 2 hours.

I am disabled and asked for a 1st floor room. Owner snapped no availability, but the parking lot was empty. Asked if he needed both vehicles info. Snaps, I'm not responsible for 2nd vehicle. Caught me off guard, normally no hotel is, but, I was concerned about him towing it. We walked in and it initially looked clean because it is tile floors and what looks like newer furniture. Unfortunately, it was not clean at all. I should have taken pics, but we were more concerned about cleaning. We left, went to Walmart to get cleaning supplies and spent almost 2 HOURS CLEANING. The bathroom was disgusting. I sprayed the walls with bathroom spray and the brown dirt just melted into the drain. Should have bought towels as some of them were so nasty. I seriously don't believe the room has been cleaned in years. The dirt was so bad. It even looked like there was blood on the bathroom wall. We went through more than an entire roll of paper towels. We didn't want to approach the owner as he was extremely rude from the start. Around 8pm that night, we were in bed relaxing before falling asleep and there's a loud knock at the door that scared us. It was the owner screaming at my husband that I needed to move my vehicle from the disabled parking. He said, she IS disabled, but he refused to listen and my husband grabbed my keys. I then walked out in my pj's argued with him, pointing out my handicap placard and my huge scars. He finally told us to leave it. Paid for 3 nights, left after 2.

Very cute and affordable place

Newly renovated. Clean and comfortable. Comfortable beds. Affordable. Nice people running the place. Definitely recommend. Will stay again!

Overall, very happy.

Overall, I was very happy with my stay. Things were clean and functional. The only drawback for me, personally, was the fact that the big fluffy lovely towels were heavily scented from scented laundry products. Not a good thing for those with chemical sensitivities. I couldn't use them.

The sheets smelled clean, but were very dingy looking (brown/yellow in color, supposed to be white).

I am a senior citizen, almost 74 years old. I made a reservation several weeks before my stay. When I arrived I asked to be put on the 1st floor and told the desk that I am an old man and didn’t want to hurt myself lugging everything upstairs. There is no elevator. I even took off my Vietnam Veterans hat so he could see my gray hair. He vehemently refused. My vehicle was the only one at that end of the building, which had 5 rooms on each floor. I consider that very bad service and will never stay there again

Booked a one night stay. Budget Inn Lake Wales is located in a quiet area. Gentleman at the front desk was very polite and helpful. This is an older, smaller (20 room?) hotel. Room 105 had been repainted/remodeled. The outlets next to the beds had USB outlets, which I find incredibly convenient. This Budget Inn was much better than expected. There are may restaurants within a mile as well. I would stay here again.

It is an old hotel, but fairly newly remodeled on the inside--ceramic tile floors & shower, quartz counters. It was clean and a good value for the money. There is no lobby, just a check-in desk, not too much in the area. It met our needs as we were visiting friends and only needed a clean place to sleep at a reasonable price.

These people cancel my reservation, got rid of my room. Didn't have any hot water at all. The people next to me kept going in and out of their room Slamming their car door slamming the hotel doors in clicking lock doors all night on their car.
