The staff combined- from check- in to dining at Jimmys are the absolute BEST. The lakefront views, the fireplace and the rooms are the nicest in Tahoe! Wonderful ambiance and CLEAN! The heated tile in the bathroom and toilet seat is a treat! Luxury at its finest!

Our stay was good except for an unexpected experience we had. We reserved the Premium King bed room for 3 people as it was advertised as "Sleeps 3". However, when we arrived at the hotel, we were told the room was actually a 2 people room, not 3, but all they can do is to provide a roll-away bed. I explained them that we expect 3 "solid" sleeping accommodation including a king bed as the room advertised for "3" people. They ended up giving us a room with 2 queen beds instead which was not ideal. The problem is that the solution was provided almost as a favor and no issue with the ad was acknowledged. This was an awkward interaction to take place in a 4.5* hotel with our third guest present. I realized that an additional solid bed (sofa type) was not mentioned in ad details but the capacity of 3 was certainly misleading and it was not acknowledged even after Expedia agent contacted them. A roll-away bed addition possibility or 3 people sleeping in a king bed should not determine the expected capacity of a room, especially in a high end hotel. I wanted to put the review out so other 3 people groups aren't mislead in the future as I verified that the room is still being advertised as "Sleeps 3"

Charles, the front office manager is absolutely horrible and has no competence to ever work in the hospitality industry. Beware of this property as its management is completely unqualified to manage anything. The way they speak to guests is unprofessional and unacceptable, DO NOT STAY HERE EVER. The rooms are outdated, smelly, and dirty, the door would not latch behind us when we would leave the room, the robes in the bathroom had brown spots all over them, GROSS, the towels had a strange smell, but most of all the staff are arrogant and rude. Find any other property in Lake Tahoe to stay at. The Landing provided an extremely memorable experience as the worst hotel we have ever stayed at.
