Though we had a rocky start with our oceanfront room in the tower, we were switched to a bungalow. The bungalow was newly renovated and spacious. There were issues with the toilet and shower, but were remedied after couple days. The grounds was beautiful and the beach was steps away. Convenient location and walkable to nearby shopping and restaurants. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Great stay for locals and visitors!

This hotel was so cute and the staff were incredibly friendly! They were so kind and helpful. We requested an early check in and they said they would give us a call to let us know. We got early check in and it was nice. The pool is great. There is a beach entrance right in front. The pool food and bar offers 15% kama'aina rate. Which was great! Would stay here again

Wow! What an amazing stay. My husband and I celebrated our babymoon and decided to stay at the royal lahaina.. everything about this property was amazing! Views were incredible, location was perfect, room was very clean, but the best part was the service and hospitality. From the bellmen to the front desk, everyone was so friendly and really cared to make your experience enjoyable. Special shoutout to Gina the property Manager she was simply fantastic. I booked an ‘Ocean View’ room at Royal Lahaina Resort in Maui. As you can see in the attached image, the room I received has a significantly obstructed view due to rooftops. This does not match the balcony view photos or description on Expedia. When I returned to the front office and mentioned that the room did not match what I had booked on Expedia, they stated that this is what I get, which contradicted the Expedia images. Then they told me my only option was for a full Ocean View, I had to upgrade my room to Ocean Front View, where I had to pay $130 extra per night for the upcoming two nights. The first night, I was stuck in this room, and the next two nights, I had to pay extra for the upgrade.

We loved this property’s location and the beach. It wasn’t crowded at all, and the grounds were spectacular. The rooms were beautiful and our bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was perfect..we had the breakfast package and I do recommend it. The food for lunch and dinner was underwhelming and overpriced. However, because the location is so perfect, we were able to easily walk to many great restaurants that we enjoyed very much. A highlight of our stay was the nightly music at ‘Branches’. It was truly magical

We recently stayed at this hotel expecting a welcoming and relaxing experience, especially during our anniversary celebration. Unfortunately, several aspects fell short of even basic hospitality standards: 1. From check-in, the staff made no effort to make us feel welcome. There was no warmth or acknowledgment—just a transactional attitude. 2. The in-room amenities were subpar; for instance, the body wash appeared diluted with water, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this category. 3. When we requested assistance with opening our beach umbrella, we were told it was “too windy.” However, other umbrellas on the beach were up and in use. The response felt dismissive. 4. At the Royal Scoop, the staff member was extremely rude. Her tone was unfriendly, and the coffee served was powdered and flavorless—not the quality we expected. 5. We informed the front desk in advance that we were celebrating our anniversary, yet not a single acknowledgment or gesture was made on the day. A missed opportunity to show care for your guests. 6. Finally, the complimentary breakfast caused confusion. The host questioned whether it was included in our stay, making us feel uncomfortable as if we were trying to get something for free. We had high hopes, but unfortunately, the lack of hospitality and attention to detail left us disappointed. We hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously to improve the experience for future guests.
