Disappointed in construction by pool--cut pool area. Great access to beach. Liked chickens on property. Japanese food was fantastic!!! Buffet could have provided better health options. price was good. salmon was cold and so was tempura shrimp and veggies were greasy and cold.

The staff at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa were amazing—kind, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. Our room was beautiful and spacious, even for four people. It had a spectacular view of the ocean, where we could watch the sunset and do some great people-watching. Our only complaint was that the pool was still under renovation from last year. This meant that we couldn't swim through from the lagoon area to the main pool, and there was an unsightly wall covering up the construction. This really took away from the beauty of the property. Also, no pool servers ever came to the lagoon side of the pool, so we had to make the trek to the bar area every time we wanted something. I was very thankful that the pools and slide were open, though, and I hope that the cave area opens soon. I had been told that it would open at the beginning of the year, but it didn't look close to being ready. The penguins and all of the other birds on property were very fun to watch. The coffee spot is also delicious!

Really liked the property. Staff was great. Rooms were great. Location was great. If I had one minor complaint it was that the pool is very small and after staying at the property for 8 days I was never able to get two chairs to sit at any day of my stay. I went down to put my towels out on chairs before 8 am and they were always accounted for. I gave up after day 4.

Nice property but hotel did not prepare for busy season at Christmas time. There was a wait for everything including half hour for breakfast. They could have opened up a second dining hall. Not enough pool chairs and staff not willing to be creative to mediate problem. In fact, outdoor staff was very unaccomodating. Not up to Hyatt standards.

A lot of construction going on that we weren’t informed about. Checkin process was rushed and I had to keep asking what benefits and amenities came with club access and if there was any entertainment happening. I was told to scan the QR code on a paper and she called for the next person in line. Bathrooms are old and hallways are unappealing with empty dirt pits on the 14th floor. Breakfast buffet didn’t have an omelette station. The club lounge was average and usually crowded. Pool chairs are all taken by 7am. The pool cabanas are over $300 and all you get is a pitcher of water and cup of pineapples. Not much of a beach at this location. There was usually only one concierge that was always busy so you’re standing in line or walking away to give up. The beds were comfortable and the swans and birds were a nice touch but that’s about it. I would not recommend it.
