Great Location Great Staff thanks Daniel!

Great hotel across the street from UCSD, nice rooms, great pool area and garden that remind me of Hawaii. Staff were great, especially Daniel at the front desk who was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming, and efficient like an old style concierge that all hotels use to have, really appreciated the hospitality!

Beautiful Grounds, but Room for Improvement The Sheraton La Jolla is set among beautiful garden courtyards with lovely landscaping that creates a peaceful, relaxing vibe. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and the cleaning staff was friendly. The pool and hot tub were nice, and a gated path offers easy access to the nearby shopping center with Philz Coffee, Sprinkles, and Whole Foods—just bring your key card to get back in! While the price felt reasonable for the area, I had higher expectations for a Sheraton. The room was clean but basic, with sparse decor and no full-length mirror. The bathroom design lacked privacy, with a frosted sliding door, no fan, and limited towel space despite the request to reuse them. (This seems to be a hotel trend for some reason). There was also construction in the main lobby and on Villa La Jolla Drive during our stay, which is just good to know ahead of time. Overall, it’s a decent choice if you want a quiet place close to the university.

The property grounds were kept very well. The pool and hot tub were really nice. The green space throughout the grounds were beautiful! The rooms were nice sized, modern, the bedding was comfortable, and thr room temperature was easy to adjust. The location is convenient to the beach, restaurants, and other attractions.

The food was good at the newly opened restaurant and the waitress was great. There were several people that were loud and obnoxious in the bar area that didn't seem like they were patrons off the hotel. Very rude

We arrived 2 hours after check in and were told our room wasn’t ready. We did not get into our room for another 45 minutes after we arrived. By then it was basically 6:00pm. The hallway and later the room reeked of cigarette smoke (from a guest just outside the hallway door who just left a burning cigarette in the ashtray and walked away) that wafted in from just outside the door. Property should move smoking sections away from where smoke just can come right inside. It was in general a very average to below average experience. It was close to UCSD, which is why we booked it. Would not stay again and would not recommend.
