A great hotel in a great location
They did a great job of converting a candy factory into a comfortable hotel, while still maintaining some of the early architectural elements. Some of the original signage was incorporated into the decor of the lobby and restaurants. The staff, mostly young people, were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome. The restaurant was outstanding with food quality and presentation that you'd expect in a big city. (The prices were also at big-city levels.) We especially enjoyed the French onion soup. The crab cake appetizer was sufficient for my main course. We also tried the Parlour (coffee shop), where we had fantastic croissants and the Rooftop Terrace, where we enjoyed wood-fired pizzas while watching the sunset. The Charmant is in a terrific location, about 2 blocks from the Mississippi River. Just a few block in the other direction, you can find shops and cafes.

Beautiful hotel in an old candy factory. Staff was friendly and the spaces were filled with history from it's past. A few minute walk from the waterfront which was worth the stroll in the morning.

Harley, the man who helped us at check-in was awesome. It was a very chaotic evening as it was the night Donald Trump was in town. He was great! The room was beautiful and comfortable, Loved all the amenities. However, the lack of coffee in the room and having to go to the lobby and wait 20ish minutes to get some was off putting. I think having something for just guests would be better. Nobodys fault but I also found the lobby to be very loud. Maybe some decor to defen the echos would be nice.

Such a treat on a cross-country drive! Beautiful room, super comfortable bed, excellent room service, good food in the restaurant. Loved the walking trail along the river, too. Would definitely stay there again.
