Hotel is wedged in alongside train tracks. You actually access it from inside the station itself. It also connects to subway system underneath station. You need the subway because attractions around Kyoto are spread out. Lots of dining options in the station concourse. Reasonable cost and convenient.

For western travel. Room ok size but limited place to store clothes in room. TV had limited English shows even with bilingual. Breakfast gear more toward Asian tastes but good if you like that. Location is very convent to catch JR train or Shinkansen train. Close to many dining option friendly to English. Shopping plentiful but can be touristy in some places.

Great location for those getting bullet train

We only stayed one night extremely basic room and small, but location is amazing as we were getting the bullet train to Tokyo next day. It’s right in the station were you get the bullet train.

Since the hotel was connected to Kyoto station, it was easy to access food and shopping if we didn’t want to go outside. Buses and trains we needed to take also stopped there. The room was clean and quiet. The staff were friendly.
