Highly recommended, everything was really great

Everything was great, this is the nicest hotel I stayed in this trip in Japan. The hotel is in a great location, the room was a good size and very clean and the onsen was really lovely and not at all busy. The little temple right inside the hotel was lovely too. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again

We loved everything about the hotel. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and able to help us in English. The building was very quiet, with a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious, and there were enough choices to keep it exciting if you're staying multiple days. Our room was a nice size, clean, and the bed was comfortable. We didn't use the public bath, but many guests were and they seemed to enjoy it. Central location downtown and the subway is minutes away. We will definitely stay here again.

Location, Friendly and Comfortable

Great hotel with such an excellent staff to support a very comfortable stay. Perfect location, excellent breakfast and a large public bath which adds to the comfort of our stay. Highly recommend this hotel while visiting Kyoto!

Mixed thoughts.

I asked for a towel which was met with, “A towel?” I said “yes please!” She said, “You want a towel?” With a frown. Eventually she gave me a towel, I didn’t understand the issue but that was nothing compared to the restaurant where I went for a look around only to be rudely approached by a waiter who said, “Can I help you?” I explained I was just looking around to which he said, “Can I help you?” Quite aggressively! I was shocked but maybe these were the only English words he knew because he repeated that for a third time making me feel very uncomfortable. Eventually another lady came over to ask what I wanted. Maybe you’re not allowed to look around I thought. When I asked about being able to actually use the restaurant she said, “We’re fully booked sorry!” It was most bizarre so I never went back leaving most unwelcome. The TV is all in Japanese as seems common which I find most frustrating but I did managed to link the tv to my phone to watch Spotify. The spa area requires strict rules on bathing and attire which is naked and the only way you can use the hot bath is if you’re happy to be surrounded by other naked men who all stare. It was most awkward to say the least and I had to wait for a few people to leave before I could go in. The hotel is clean and in a good location with a comfy bed. The smoking room is a smelly box room. There’s no garden area or communal area.

Fantastic location and very clean. The public bath and changing area are a nice addition. All the small touches, heated toilet seat, body towels, toothbrushes (and more) put this over the top. Highly recommend.

It is a well-located hotel with clean rooms, and the onsite onsen is a lovely addition. However, the staff were not helpful, and their service could definitely be improved.
