Disappointing Hype at Loisir Hotel While my stay at Loisir Hotel was objectively clean and decent enough for a basic overnight, I'm honestly perplexed by the overwhelmingly positive reviews I've seen. My experience simply didn't align with the apparent high praise. The room, while tidy, felt quite dated and very simple. It was also smaller than I anticipated based on the price point. The lack of soundproofing was a significant issue, as I was woken up multiple times throughout the night by noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway. This severely impacted my ability to get a restful sleep. However, the biggest letdown was undoubtedly the breakfast. I found the selection to be uninspired, and unfortunately, nothing I tried tasted particularly good. It felt like a very basic and somewhat low-quality offering, certainly not the highlight some reviews seemed to suggest. Overall, Loisir Hotel provided a clean and functional space, but it felt very average. The dated rooms, small size, and especially the poor breakfast and lack of soundproofing left me wondering why this hotel receives such high accolades. It's a far cry from being a memorable or exceptional stay, and I wouldn't personally consider it again given the other options potentially available.

I stayed here for 10 nights with my 80 year old mother. It was a lovely stay and we enjoyed coming back each night to our quiet, comfortable room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Location was perfect! Everything was so easily accessible and the closest station is only a couple of minutes away. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was very nice and clean!

Incredibly disappointing (breakfast as only perk)

I was very disappointed with this choice of hotel. It began with the hotel refusing to accept my bag the day prior to check in, saying I could only do so if I paid to have it delivered when I was already in Kyoto. It made no sense. Then, when I finally checked in, carrying that bag despite being pregnant, the room was filthy. Hair of all variety all over the bathroom floor. Some sticky substance on the desk. More hair on the bedside table. The shower wouldn't turn hot (this they addressed after I requested it be fixed). Out of all the hotels I stayed in this 2-week trip, it was the second most expensive and the most disappointing of any I've stayed in during my 16-year relationship with Japan. Ouch. Only the breakfast was good.

Nice hotel and comfy rooms . Just be careful with what they say in the description on hotel booking platforms as I was lead to believe the buffet breakfast was included because they included the buffet breakfast words/ icon on green in the room price description which they seem to now have removed for future bookings. Otherwise pleasant stay, comfortable beds and relaxing public baths. Room.was bigger than the one who has in Tokyo in similar.standing.
