The location is in a residential area but walkable to nearby Imperial palace. Taxis are always available.The dining options are fine but more toward the higher price. We came during winter month so a little chilly during our walks. The hotel has good amenities in the room, replenish water, tea and coffee. There is a nearby 7-11 if you crave for snacks. Staff is polite, communicate well in English. I wish that the hotel had a spa or onsen.

The Kyoto Brighton is always one of the highlights of my visits to Kyoto. The staff is friendly and the area around it is very quiet. The accommodations are always clean and comfortable and it is not far from a number of places that are enjoyable to visit. It also has a very helpful shuttle for transit to Karasuma Oike station for those arriving from Kyoto station or wanting to explore the city! Would absolutely come back again!

Overall experience was excellent. The hotel is not far from the local subway lines, and it's right next to the Kyoto Imperial Palace. So, if you're looking to scratch that off your itinerary list then it's an easy action item. The service was exceptional. Everybody was helpful, and polite. The room itself was spacious, and had a certain grandeur that couldn't be offered by other hotels that must work with a smaller footprint. The amenities were great so take advantage of them. THIS MAY NOT BE IN CENTER OF THE CITY BUT IT IS CLOSE TO ALL THE PLACES (15-20MINS), INCLUDING KYOTO STATION. THEY ALSO HAVE A SHUTTLE EVERY 20 MINUTES (ONE SPOT FOR P/U AND DROP-OFF). I WOULD BOOK AGAIN.
