I had a good time. The reception staff helpful though quite strict. I thought the buffet staff was guarding like I was in prison. The rooms are nice and comfy though tv’s would do better with an upgrade. Otherwise it was quite well located and easy to get a cab from. I feel like the staff should help you load and unload luggage especially when they see you are a family and are struggling. It’s a shame but I wouldn’t go back there though the location and views are amazing. Also, buffet is amazing if you are vegetarian or don’t care about kosher or halal meat. Otherwise you are left with very few options. I thought this could improve and they may see a wider variety of customers, from the middle if they they halal wagyuu/ Kobe beef. The ball is your camp 😜

Hotel staff too rigid/ food needs halal options
Where do I start ??? The staff saw my wife and our daughter arrive and no staff welcomed us and our luggage. So my pregnant wife went in and picked up a trolley for us and I put it all on it. The check was fine. My real issue is the restaurant. First of all when I walked in i felt like some of the male staff were more like Prison guards or shop security (only with me) staring at me where ever I was going. I tried to have my dinner in the terrace before i was stopped by one who told me no no no it’s only for people who are ordering from a bar menu or whatever when the terrace was literally empty! He couldn’t speak English and just kept telling come, come so I did take my stuff and went back in. I explained to his manager there should be a sign on the door or something to which he agreed. The floor manager is really good. The rules needs more flexibility. We are not Japanese and do not want to be treated like robots. Your hotel and this whole country needs to loosen up and be more flexible to accommodate people who come to relax and not feel under pressure. In regard to the food I noticed that a lot of the food, although really good, have meat in it even when it does not say it and you don’t expect it(potato croquettes). So that made it difficult for me to enjoy lots of things. I understand the culture eat lots of pork etc but you should be accommodating to kosher and Muslims and offer lots of halal options. Trust me it will be noticed and the wealthy Arab will come to Japan.Tx
Very unique property, nice facilities but far from downtown. The only breakfast option is the hotel and that buffet will cost you $25-30 / person. The only other option is the Starbucks that is a 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Nothing else available.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The hotel got the best location surrounded by popular scenes. Apart from that the hotel itself is in old stylist and poor condition insides.
All sofa are dirty with stains and make people feel disgusting. Maybe it’s time to have renovation immediately.
Great view from the hotel, staff are friendly and helpful. Location is good given it’s right by the port. Lobby is gorgeous, however condition and maintenance of the hotel room need some improvements for an Oriental Hotel standards. Carpet is showing sign of age and have stains in many places, bathroom has a slight unpleasant odour, bath tub and sink are clearly not cleaned between guests. If these can improve, I will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.
I stayed at the Orient Hotel for 6 nights. Good location, nice staff, good breakfast and clean. It’s on the harbor so have a beautiful view, there is a plaza by the ferris wheel that is a fun little spot and has lots of good food/shopping. There is a ‘Art and Aquarium’ near by and is worth going to. Enjoyed my stay there.
