I called the property on Monday of this week. The situation was I was checking in on Thursday night, and the bride was going to stay on Friday night, and I wanted to ensure I could at least pay for the room when I checked in on Thursday. I was told originally on the phone that's no problem, and that they may not be able to check in on Thursday, but I can at least pay for the stay. Great, no problems. Get there on Thursday, I'm told I need a physical credit card, the visa debit I booked with online wasn't good enough. Okay, no problem. My father lives somewhat-close so he drove over because my husband's card over the phone wasn't acceptable either, and the wedding dress was in my car. So he gets there, and I'm told that's not good enough either, that it has to be the card for someone who was staying with me. I wasn't told this on the phone, OR the hour before. My husband wasn't going to be in town for another four hours, so I had to leave the wedding dress in my car during dinner, rehearsal and only after 7 PM was I in the room. And then, upon check in when I asked about the bride, I was told THEY have to check in when they got there. I said "We're not going to be here Friday until after 11 PM, is that still okay to get the room?" (Because I had booked in on my card months ago), and I was told that's no problem.
The hotel called the bride and told me the room had been cancelled. Harmon helped us after to find a solution, but everything else was stressful and ridiculous.
