This hotel commands its price because it is located in the park. It does have a pleasant lobby for relaxing, and there are rocking chairs on the porches. But there is no area immediately adjacent to the hotel to explore, just a parking lot and a paved road to walk to the restaurant and visitor's center. At night, it is totally dark once you exit the front door to the parking lot. We brought our small dog and there is no area set aside for him to relieve himself. In fact, most of what is accessible on the hill has signs to stay off. The room just has a fan for cooling. The only microwave is in the lobby. I thought the staff were good at their jobs.
Cute cabin, nic walk down to gift shop and dining. Could use a bed upgrade.

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
Overall the lodge has a log cabin charm. The front desk provided adequate service. Coffee is provided in the lobby common area but constantly needed to be refilled which was not attended to without prompting. The room was ok but better attention needed to dusting all surfaces including the blinds ( which are not blackout , prepare to wake at first light or bring a mask). Mattresses need to be replaced, could feel the springs- very uncomfortable. It’s really the only option for lodging in the park with en suite bathrooms but for the price could use some upgrades for comfort
Very dated property with limited facilities.
Staff were sassy about people trying to check in and hour early then had a full lobby 2 hours after check in time because none of the rooms were clean.
Close to Panoramic Point Overlook and General Grant Tree. Nice staff and clean room. Need to walk to Grant Grove Village for breakfast, though. Overall, highly recommended.
Perfect location on the edge of King’s Canyon National Park. Next to a store, visitor center and restaurant. Very clean. Excellent staff. Lovely porch with rocking chairs. Highly recommend!!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Nice room in the park. Pricy for the value. Rooms noisy with loud plumbing noises in wall.
Attached restaurant very bad service. One hour to get a pizza
Great location. Rooms good.
The meal service provided at the remote dining room leaves a lot to be desired. No staff on hand. Electronic meal ordering only. No wine available. In short it’s typical of the Delaware North form of industrial catering….. May work in a hospital but not for a premium location. Very poor..
What a lovely property. Clean, comfortable, quiet. The check in was easy. The staff was welcoming. The restaurant was closed, for some work, but the recommended another hotels' restaurant and it was close. I would love to stay again, in the future.
Small clean quiet wonderful lodge, beautiful forest view, great walking area, nice helpful staff.

John Muir lodge is the only place where to spend the night outside the north part of Sequoia Park. Very basic lodge for the price.
Limited water pressure in shower.
Clean and large room. No A/C only heater.
Coffee in the room but no breakfast at the lodge. The restaurant is 5 min walk from there to offer basic lunch, diner and breakfast.
