3* EXPERIENCE
Arrived at hotel mid week for one night. We were told by reception at check in the cleaners were still in the room so we went for a drink in the meantime. When we returned we were told the room still wasn't ready so we waited in the lobby. Reception finally gave us the key and when we arrived at the room the foor was open and the cleaners were still inside. Hotel should not state on website that you can check in at 3pm and then have toom ready at 4.10pm.
We went to the spa and had intense deep tissue massages where we both fell asleep so obviously they were not that intense but enjoyable all the same. The thermal suite was also underwhelming- jacuzzi not working in infinity pool and sauna was very hot.
On return to our room, we noticed all our belongings were moved and the curtains closed. Not sure if this is usually done in 5* hotel but we felt like it was unnecessary.
We then went to the Brasserie for dinner where we were told that there would be a 45min wait for food but we could go to Riva as they would have seats. I had called weeks beforehand to reserve a table at the Brasserie and was told it was first come first serve. Then we noticed a table reserved for 8 people on our way out.
The room was well equipped but the beds were hard and it was way too hot leading to a poor night sleep.
Told the receptionist about our check in and instead of taking it on board she unapologetically said that the hotel was fully booked and check in is usually between 3-4pm
