only one item left a bitter taste my brother booked two nights half board paying circa 20 for the evening meal we booked BB for 4 nights on arrival we asked to join my brother for evening meal for two nights . hotel would only offer those to meal at £45 eachwhen my brother and wife had paid £20 each we joined them for one night and it cost £90 , brother and wife paid £40 for same meal total rip off

Convenient hotel for Keswick

A nice hotel in a convenient location for Keswick. We had a deluxe room. Some of the furniture looked a bit tired but overall ok. A little concerned over how the full length sash window opened from floor level - no 'security' to prevent things falling out, especially children. We had DB&B deal. Quality of evening meal was good but felt it was served up without any breathing space between courses. For the price, felt breakfast should have been freshly cooked rather than buffet style. Although actually a reasonable deal, there was a hint of "coach tour" style to the dining experience.

Beautiful building and grounds. Staff helpful and breakfast choice was very good. Room 300. Room rather tired and certainly ready for an upgrade. shower room very used/tired also. sadly we didnt have any hot water on a night, nothing coming out of tap and shower. was given an alternative room to shower in, some distance away from our room. issue/inconvenience not acknowledged at checkout sadly

Keswick Easter holiday visit

Stayed here with my daughter as a base for enjoying some waking. Really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We only had breakfasts there but it was really tasty with good service. The venue is very nice with a sense of history to it. Room was spacious and comfortable. May be in the process of getting refreshed as some parts seemed very fresh and modern while other bits looked more traditional. Great value for a very pleasant place to stay and a perfect base.

I really enjoyed my short stay at the hotel, the atmosphere was friendly, the staff were helpful, the food was excellent,but perhaps for me, more choice of cereal at breakfast as I don't do a cooked breakfast.

Excellent staff, great food and lovely location.

Staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was excellent as were the lounge, bar and dining areas. Bedroom had a lovely view but most of the windows were painted shut and the bed was "interesting" as it was on a distinct slope and the matress was somewhat soft. Overall a fantastic stay but the room was a bit tired.

Brilliant weekend

Had a weekend with my husband and parents as a belated birthday for my dad and an early mothers day for my mum. My parents had a brilliant weekend and so did we. The staff were brilliant and so helpful with everything and we are looking to go again later in the year.
