My family had 1 day stay in Kona. Check in was very effected and fast. The hotel was a short walk to the beach. Good quality basic room amenities .

Parking limited and charged $25. The room we purchased was sold before we arrived so they put us in another room that was supposed to be an upgrade, but didn’t appear to be an upgrade. Was charged a $25 amenity I have no idea what it covered. No coffee maker in the room. The liquor cabinet was not stocked with what was advertised. Only had beer and pop. The ice maker on our floor didn’t work. We had to walk to another building to get ice. The only positive was the young man at the front desk was very friendly and as helpful as he could be all considered. We felt bad for him. Very disappointed considering how much we were charged.

Staff was rude and unwelcoming especially the lady in tbe office where we left our luggage because our room wasn’t ready. I asked her if it was safe due to the fact it wasn’t secure and she responded with a very snarky “I’m not going to go through your luggage”. Then I had to go back and look for my car keys I had misplaced and she said, “I think your room should be ready , just tell the front desk I said your room is ready because I think that would be a better idea than trying to hang out with me.” I then realized she must be the manager…. How she got that job is s head scratcher. First of all the workd doesn’t revolve around You sistah and not everything is about you…. Try have some common sense. Nobody trying to hang out with you. I was looking for my keys and when I asked about my luggage being secure was not a question about you, it was about the safety of my stuff. Also, if my room was all of a sudden ready why not just let me check in when I arrived at 3:27pm. Also, when you checked us in you gave us a room without the upgrade I paid for. Lucky the nice guy when we checked out refunded us the upgrade fee. Property is decent, a bit dated, parking sux, but room was clean, bed comfortable and it is walkable to many cute shops and restaurants. Just don’t expect a welcoming feel and if you wanna check in before 4pm I would recommend going into the managers office and trying to get something out of your unsecured luggage.

While the rooms/building itself is quite old it has been modernized and has updated decor and furniture. The mini-split ac did a good job keeping the room comfortable and was quiet. The bed was comfortable. Our room had a nice balcony that over looked a lovely garden. The only downsides were in the bathroom. There is no vent fan so lots of moisture build up when you take a shower. Also there was a motion sensing (dusk to dawn) light over the shower that came on when we went to the bathroom in the middle of the night (no way to turn it off), this was very bright (not like a night light) and blinding.

The property and room was clean, however it really gets me they charge $25 per night resort fee. I was there only 15hrs, NEVER set foot on the pool deck, NEVER took yoga, nor drank the free coffee. I just think the $25 is a money grab.
